“*Highly* recommended if you're anywhere near the area, and worth a trip out of your way if you're travelling on the Taconic Parkway - get off the Parkway at the Route 301/Cold Spring exit, take 301 west towards Cold Spring, make a left at Route 9 and they're about 1/4 mile south on the right. I was tipped off to "this barbecue place on Route 9" by friends who live in the area. I've had all manner and style of BBQ over the years, from New York to all over the South/Southeast and Texas, and this place blows them *all* out of the water! The food reminds me of the best home-made BBQ - not only do they use quality ingredients and have great recipes, but they have the right people cooking it and running the show. You can tell their hearts are into making the best food they can possibly make, and they genuinely enjoy it.”

“I stopped at this station a few years ago on my motorcycle for fuel and Bill, who may be the owner, or just a really great guy, came out to talk to me because he rides a bike too. A nice gas station, does car repairs, sell tires and lots of usual stuff. A great location just north of the end of Route 684 as it turns into Route 22. The next time I needed a NYS motorcycle inspection I went there again, and Bill got me in and out in 10 minutes. Today I went back with a bike and he did the same, and then even did my other bike later in the same day, all that without an appointment (which I do not recommend, because this is a pretty busy place and they would appreciate an appointment. They fit me in as a favor, for which I am happy. Lots of cold drinks, coffee, rolls and snacks, etc. Go there, get some gas and say hi to Bill and the ladies who take care of the front of the store.”

Needs host at door to say goodnight, wall hangings to dampen sound. Bus persons to clear the table periodically. More attention to small details and the place would truly be beyond. Needs to be clearer about mission. Limited menu seafood centered. We marked our online reservation form that it was our Anniversary, however nothing was done with this information, so why ask? Even so we had an excellent time.”

“One of the best NY style pizza I’ve had at a reasonable price too. The slices were large with a good cheese to sauce ratio. Sauce was a bit acidic, but not overwhelming. The dough was soft and held its form well, crust was crunchy on the outside and soft within. It wasn’t oily either. Their garlic knots were a bit small, but you get 6. They were really soft and not too garlicky. I’d get marinara sauce on the side.”
