“The Visitor Center is the best way to start your visit to Fort Wadsworth. There is a museum which provides a great overview of the historic military base and fortifications and there are park rangers on staff who can point out all the best things to see in the park. Definitely worth your time. - Be advised: this visitor center is open seasonally (spring, summer, and fall) and is usually closed in the winter. Call ahead!”

“If you love lighthouses this is a must see. There is lots of great exhibits on lighthouse history and how they work. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. Its right next to the Staten Island Ferry so its easy to get to. More work is being done on the museum site which was one the nation's largest lighthouse depot. All of the historic buildings on the site are being rebuilt. Looking forward to returning when the museum moves to the building next to it in a few years.”
