Amazing selection of bonsai trees from small starters to absolute units. Lots of great Scots Pines and Japanese Maples. Pots and soil too!
John is quite a character; everyone there was cheerful and helpful!
Calling all bonsai enthusiasts — this is THE PLACE! Most amazing selection of bonsai I’ve ever seen. John was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful when deciding which species to purchase. Just walking around checking out the amazing array of trees made for a great trip to the Bonsai Shack. Best place to purchase bonsai in the area! They also do bonsai classes and shows!! They have a gorgeous Koi pond too.
We’ll definitely be back!
The Bonsai Class that John Dillon offers is hands on, educational, and really fun – it is especially nice that you leave the class with your very own bonsai to treasure. The Bonsai Shack is in a beautiful nursery with 100s of bonsai along with a koi pond where you can feed and pet the fish. The class is super lively and very instructive on the history and traditions of the art of bonsai. We learned how to trim the roots, pot bonsai, wire the branches and trim the canopy to shape them. John has so much enthusiasm for what he does with bonsai and koi ponds and really takes an interest in ensuring students get the best experience possible. No doubt, I will be returning for more bonsai fun in the future!
We had a great time doing the bonsai class. My wife, my son and I all created bonsai while learning from an experienced teacher. We learned how to trim the roots and pot bonsai. We also wired the branches and trimmed the canopy to shape them. They turned out beautiful and we had a blast!
The Bonsai Shack is a wonderful place filled with many species of Bonsai. John, the Bonsai Shack owner, was amazing! His knowledge of Bonsai trees is first class. He is honest, kind, and willing to talk and enlighten you about Bonsai. Also, he helps you decide what type of Bonsai would suit you best. If you're looking to get into the living art of Bonsai this is the place to go.
