Coach Ron Kuhl and his staff practice personalized approach to the player development, even during group sessions. Lots of fun for the kids, but also structured work and progression. Big kids of all ages and adult wannabes will be able to rebuild lacking skills or get an excellent off-season training.
Client skill levels range from the Learn to Skate 3 year-olds to the active AHL and NHL players, but everybody gets the same attention.
Very clean and organized. Ice rink is big enough for the drills, kids or adults.
Other half of the Hut is occupied by the well equipped Top Form strength and conditioning studio, that works with the players and with the non-players just seeking a good functional workout seeking
Sharpening on-site. Blade/shin tape. Fair prices and you get what you pay for.
(May 29, 2019, 3:26 pm)Make no mistake this facility is for the type of hockey player that wants to go to the next level. Ron and his team are awesome mentors/trainers/motivators and skilled hockey coaches who have built out a proven curriculum. If you have that kid who enjoys competition, wants to move to the next level, and gives their all in every drill, then this is the ONLY place for you in the capital region. Bring a towel they will be sweating like crazy when they get off the ice. I recommend the multi-week package. I am a firm believer it is the repetitive continual weekly training that reinforces a proven curriculum will help any kid achieve their goals. It did for mine! Good luck!
(March 24, 2019, 12:44 pm)Our son plays hockey here. Although a smaller rink, the coaches and people are great! The progress they get out of kids is amazing in such a short time. We love it!
(November 5, 2017, 5:27 am)Very well maintained facility. Excellent way to get affordable expert training. Staff is very accommodating and responsive. Consisted training at Hockey Hut will definitely enhance your child's hockey experience, making it more enjoyable and giving him or her a competitive edge.
(October 31, 2016, 4:04 pm)My son has been going there since late feb 2016 when he was almost 4. We did a few mini private lessons then took a break for the summer and now we are back at it he is doing Learn to skate there on Saturday mornings and he has a Friday session there with Clifton park youth hockey. I love how informative the staff are. Donovan loves "Coach Matt" who has been working with him ever since my lil guy started skating. Very family friendly place not gigantic like the Clifton park arena very nice great lessons. Even though my boy isn't great at skating as he has trouble with stopping and turning. I have all the confidence that it will come in time.
Highly recommend the Hockey Hut for kids who just want to learn to skate, learn to figure skate and learn to play hockey!
