“This Is the best bookstore I've ever been to, and I have such a fond memory of it. I live in Texas, my son goes to Union College and I was visiting him and we found this place by walking around. Everything about it is perfect, the old building it's in, the books everywhere, the smell of books and every kind of book from antiques to new releases. One day my son was in class and I went to this bookstore alone and it started to rain, a downpour like magic. I spent the next couple hours relaxing in a chair, listening to it rain while flipping through books. The owner was there and he is perfect fit for building, the relaxing rain, the books. He is an older man and wore a sweater, the type you would imagine an intellect would ware, I bet he has read every book there! He himself is a library of knowledge. I talked to him, asked him if he had anything by Edward Young, author or "Night Thoughts" and we began a lovely conversation. He showed me his photo box he made for selling books online, I believe Abe books. I could of talked to him all day. He is the kind of person that if you do not meet or get to know, you doing yourself a disservice I bought some books that day for my son's 19th birthday. My son is always reading and the ones I picked out he soaked up. I have not been back to New York since then, (October 2021)but I need to. I talk to my son daily and i often bring up how that bookstore is an antidepressant. I hope it never closes, I hope the owner never dies. If you have a chance to go there, bring a flashlight for the rows are perfectly narrow and there are books everywhere, you will find at least one that will call to you”

“hello to whom it may concern! I have no complaints, only props! This bag was bought for me for my hs graduation by an Albany friend ( I used to live there too. She still does!). I graduated in 1981; that's 42 yrs ago (I think!). I turned 60 this year. This bag has been back and forth from NY to Fla MANY times, served as a backpack while in Europe for 4 months in 1985; been on MANY planes, trains and automobiles; been to MANY MANY beaches, and is still going strong. Not one repair has been needed. I call it my lucky bag and won't go on a trip without it. As I look forward to retirement in 5 yrs and hopefully returning to Europe, this bag will come. “I went to the Erie Blvd location in Schenectady. They only stock electrical supplies, which is why I go there. Service is good, you will pay a little more, but the selection and quality of the merchandise can't be beat. When I need something that the big box stores don't carry, I go here, walk in, and get what I want. The entrance is on the right hand side of the building as you face it and they have a dedicated customer parking lot there. I've been shopping there since the mid seventies. And I'll definitely go back.”

“After much debate, I decided that my 23 year old, almost mint condition, Mercedes-Benz finally needed an upgrade. It was time to replace the cassette tape-deck radio and upgrade to a new wireless Apple CarPlay enabled touchscreen. After doing some research I decided to visit Boomer Mcloud in Schenectady. When I walked in I was immediately greeted by the General Manager Joe. He was super patient and answered all of my questions without trying to give me the typical sales pitch. He walked me through all of the options available for my car and scheduled my appointment. I wanted to retain the classic look of my radio console so I purchased a console frame that matched my original but could fit a touchscreen instead of just my old tape-deck. Needless to say the technician customized the entire setup to fit as I envisioned. I’m very happy with the entire experience. Not only did Joe and his staff provide great customer service, they did an excellent job installing my custom frame, touchscreen and backup camera in under 3-4 hours as projected. Their prices are very reasonable and if they don’t have exactly what your looking for Joe will get it for you. I’d highly recommend this spot for your car audio needs, especially if you need something custom!!”

“Uncle Sam's has been a great place to stop for as long as my grandparents can remember (80+ years)! What really sets Uncle Sam's apart from other candy stores is it's variety. From chocolate graduation hats to gummy birthday cakes, if you can think of it, Uncle Sam's probably has it. Every occassion, every time of the year. They've also got a great selection of fresh goods such as fudge, candied apples, and their specialty, chocolate covered strawberries. We're glad to see the place has not changed under new ownership, and we will continune to support them for years to come (hopefully).”

His set up was very clean, he explained the whole process of what he was going to do before he started so my daughter was comfortable. He was thorough in explaining the aftercare to her and patiently answered all questions she had for him. “We have been living in our gorgeous new kitchen for about 8 months now, and it still makes me smile every day. I am happy to recommend Marianne to designer your next project. She helped us transform a very dated and basic kitchen into something truly unique. She has a great eye for space and is a very talented designer incorporating both beauty and function into your home. Our kitchen space feels almost twice the size and makes our entire first floor feel like a completely different space. It’s open and contemporary while still feeling warm and inviting. Marianne really understood our style and our need for functionality. She has great ideas, great style and really knows the business. We spend a lot of time in the kitchen, and everyone in our family cooks. Our countertops were cluttered with appliances since we didn’t have enough storage. Marianne’s design added a lot of storage space and she even added “hidden” spaces for the appliance we use daily. We can still be messy, but we no longer have cluttered countertops which I’m thrilled about. Probably one of the things that keeps me smiling. She also incorporated so many unique and beautiful elements like a walnut floating bar on our island and floating shelves which really added the necessary warmth to the dark blue and cream cabinets. Marianne managed the whole project from start to finish and worked quickly to resolve any problems that came up. I also have to say she works with some amazing and very professional contractors who did a great job. We are very pleased with our kitchen renovation and will love it for many years to come.”
