Such an inclusive and thoughtful experience that kept our safety in mind always while keeping up the stoke! We had three long days for an SPI course with Eric, but the pace was on point and time just flew by. I was not entirely sure about traveling all the way from New Mexico to take the course in the Gunks, but I am 100 percent glad that I did. This course and this school has changed the course of my climbing career and I could not be more grateful for their professionalism and attention to detail and customer care. Thanks Eric!
Eric and Patty are fantastic guides. They give experienced climbers the ability to explore new routes and new climbers the confidence to experiment and test their skills while feeling safe and protected. I highly recommend! Plus they take great pictures of your adventures in climbing!
I’ve been out ice climbing with EMS a handful of times over the last two years and keep coming back for more. The instructors are great and extremely knowledgeable. The prices and service are unbeatable. We’ve had a blast and can’t wait to take more courses with the school throughout the year. I would highly recommend EMS!
I have been out climbing on ice and rock with EMS several times. I am a novice who requires guides on every outing. Each time I am out with EMS the guides take the time to listen and understand what I want from the current experience.
I climbed with Dan on Saturday February 12th. The warmer weather presented a unique experience. No complaints about 30 - 40 degree temps while ice climbing. The weather did impact the conditions and Dan chose a spot where we could have the best experience. I enjoy learning about the equipment and techniques used in the sport. Dan understood by desire to learn how to set up anchors and invited me to observe as he explained the how and why of the anchoring. Anyone less interested in the equipment wanting to climb all day would have that opportunity as well. We had a great day climbing. We discussed the sport and the wide variety of styles and techniques we could use to climb safely and efficiently. Dan like many of the guides has an ability to be laid back and casual where applicable while maintaining safety as a priority. I cannot say enough about him and his professionalism.
I sent a few emails inquiring about details of the trip. Eric Waldron (climbing school manager) contacted me via phone to answers questions I sent via email and confirm that I had everything I needed. Eric is a prime example of good management and professionalism.
I highly recommend EMS. I have used their services in North Conway, NH as well. They are an excellent team and a great value for the services they provide.
EMS is a Great rock climbing school with certified guides in a perfect location, next to the world famous Gunks cliffs. I recommend the group climbing 101 lesson, it’s a good price and perfect level for gym climbers who aren’t used to the outdoors. I have taken that course maybe five times and it’s somehow always in a different location, and always fun and challenging. Highly recommend!
