Golden Sands Resort On Lake George

We loved our time at Golden Sands! It’s a perfect location right on the lake with its very own private beach and is a quick drive to get into town. They also have free kayaks that you can use. Liz the owner was so welcoming and helpful too! We are definitely going to stay here again the next time we go to Lake George.

Golden Sands is just a LOVELY location on the lake. The sand beach allows you to just walk into the water (or run). The swimming is delightful and the feeling of the property is warm and cozy. I felt welcome and at home, and there was pleasant conversation among the other guests. It's the same way every time I stay. The morning Kayaking was really beautiful (they are free to use) and the sunrises and quiet on the water were exquisite. The cabins (rooms) have a rustic Adirondack decor which adds to the charm of the entire property, the lake, and the area! Liz and her staff are delightful and were so accommodating. I highly recommend staying!

We thoroughly enjoyed the Golden Sands. The rooms were very clean and the property well maintained. Things were very quiet during our stay which was needed. The beach area had plenty of chairs, a dock, a fire pit and kayaks for use. We will definitely stay here again!

My sister and I just returned from a 7 night stay at Golden Sands and we thoroughly enjoyed the private beach, beautiful lake views, kayaking, barbecueing and meeting all the friendly guests! Liz, the Owner was very visible each day on the property and very nice. The staff was very friendly and cleaned the property every day. Great location to the Village. Rooms were clean. We are missing it already!

We stayed at Golden Sands the weekend of July 14-16, 2023. The trip was a very last minute booking as we had decided to reschedule our camping trip in Maine because of strong thunderstorms and rain all weekend. It was our first trip to Lake George and we had no idea what the area was like. I am really glad I booked Golden Sands. The location has great views of the surrounding mountains and is at a quiet section of lake and surrounding area. It is close to downtown Lake George. The rooms are a good value compared to other places in the area. No frills accommodations but everything you need including a mini fridge, microwave, AC, BBQ grills, plenty of beach chairs and rental kayaks. The beds are fairly firm and only came with one pillow per person (however we didn’t ask for extra). If you like a softer mattress I would advise bringing a mattress topper. Other wise we definitely recommend this place and will return.
