“Fun place to visit. Easy trail to the old Cornish Estate. If you continue on the Cornish trail it leads to a nice brook with an old man made waterfall. Any time of year is good for a visit. Get there early for parking.”

“If you haven't done yourself the favor of going to the Storm King sculpture garden, autumn is the perfect time. Fortunate enough to have the day off to go during the week, my experience of wandering the luscious and meticulously kept grounds was heightened by the stunning sculpture, over 100+ pieces in all seamlessly integrated into the landscape. Bring your own food and drinks, they have beautiful picnic areas and I made the oversight of not bringing my own eats which resulted in me having to spend amply on limited options. The coffee and food were delicious, but had I known that there wouldn't be more offerings I would have come better prepared. But to the main reason you come, the sculpture! Drawing on an eloquently and well curated body of works from many of the most well-recognized artists in the world, think Calder, Smith, and Serra to name a few, there are surprises around every corner. Whether hidden in private pockets of the woods or out in can't-miss full view, it is one lovely thought provoking piece after another. I enjoyed hunting down different pieces and found the layout orchestrated marvelously to really showcase the works. Going during the week will insure more privacy. Throughout our 4+ hour excursion we repeatedly had sculpture to ourselves which I imagine will never happen on a weekend. No matter though, the user friendly layout and open space serve to provide all visitors a unique and private viewing experience. Highly recommended.”

“Just saw the sign and my car turned in. It was closed so I did not see much. I did see a Oriole, I hear the song and kept looking until I found it. There was a female in the tree so that was why he was so persistent.”

“Really cool place to go. Went here for the first time with my fiance and what an experience. So much history to the building and the planetarium was awesome. 3 different shows so you'll have to go back 3 separate times or it's going to be a long day. 40 dollars total for 2 people for the house tour and the planetarium show. I'd go back any time of the year!”

“Beautiful easy hike through the site of an important historical foundry. Through marsh and woods. The reclamation and cleanup of this former Superfund site is remarkable. Markers along the path inform about the site's history. One lovely intact building fun 1865. The hike can take you along the river to a falls, before either looping back to its start, or ending up near the Putnam History Museum, where you can learn more about the foundry and the history of the area. The history museum's building was originally the foundry school, for young apprentices and workers' children.”

“Pretty awesome piece of The United States of America right here , and a key point in its history. Across the Hudson river from The United States Military Academy at West Point New York , this is the island where the chain across the Hudson was laid out to stop the British boats from advancing up the river”
