“Fun place to be! Great vibe. People are friendly and will start a conversation with you. Lots of events like live bands or trivia. No cover. Staff is very attentive. If a seat is important to you, get one 15 to 30 minutes before an event. Else you're unlikely to get one. Prices are good for the area. Seen two bands here and they're quite good! They also have dart boards. Lots of tvs tuned to different sports events. Cons: one single person bathroom and the food is OK. Gastropub it is not. Looking forward to coming back!”

“The Manhattan Ballroom society has one of its locations at the basement of the St. Jean Baptiste church. This location features high ceilings unusual for a basement and spacious wooden floor ideal for ballroom dancing. Stephen Dane provides exceptionally well designed brush-up lessons in popular ballroom dances. The music is a bit old-fashioned but elegant and sweet. The crowd is friendly and giving a chance to dance to everybody.”

“I love The Rose Room. I’ve been to the show more than once and it’s a fun experience to enjoy with friends for a night out during the weekend! Both times my friends and I went to the late show and we brought dollar bills for the go-go dancers—which was very exciting! The Rose Room is a small, intimate space with sofas to lounge in while you watch the show, and right outside the area is a bar where you can get yourself delicious cocktails to sip on! The cabaret acts feature spectacular singers, daring dancers, and a marvelous magician who likes to pick out volunteers from the audience to help during his act. My favorite magic act was when he picked out the card I that I had written my name on—it was mixed into the deck which was then placed into a paper bag, the magician was blindfolded, and he pulled my card out with a knife! My description doesn’t capture how exciting this experience was—and I still have my card souvenir! Visit The Rose Room for something different and exciting, something you can enjoy with friends or as a date night experience.”

“Security is on point. Absolutely huge casino with many sections. I wouldn’t categorize it as very crowded given covid times. There are many sanitizing stations around but I suggest you take alcohol wipes or other when using the machines. It is wheelchair accessible as well. There is a bar inside the casino. Rarely would you see a server anywhere. Overall, a nice place.”

“Re-opened and under new ownership, Arthur’s Tavern is better than ever! Ya might want to complain that the dive bar formerly known as Arthur’s Tavern is gone (you miss the dusty decorations, hitting your head when you sat down along the wall, going into the creepy leaky bathroom…)… but once you go, you’ll be incredibly surprised that the spruced up jazz room now known as Arthur’s Tavern is alive, comfortable, clean and friendly(!!) and probably closer to the 1937 version of the original Arthur’s Tavern!! The regular Sunday night band (every Sunday since the 1980’s) The Creole Cookin’ Jazz band is back (7p-10p)! The Monday night band, The Grove Street Stompers (playing every Monday since the ‘60-‘70’s!) are also back, 7p-10p! I spent a lot of time in the pre-pandemic Arthur’s (my trombone-playing dad-in-law has played in the Sunday night band since the 80’s!) and being there last night (Sunday 5/1/22) for the first time since the re-opening (April 29, 2022) I can tell you, there’s nothing I miss of the old Arthur’s. The new owners did a magnificent job of renovation/restoration. If you do miss the old Arthur’s, check out the photos, on the new walls, of the old dive. Dixieland Trad Jazz is here!”
