Mike and Saxapahaw Campground have thought of everything! From on-site water to spacious sites and a canteen to a wide variety of camping options (tent/hammock vs cabins), there is something for every camper. Our group rented a cabin as well as the Tree Pod; the former being easily accessible with a mini fridge and coffee, and the latter being set up for a unique, one-of-a-kind experience with a large outside area to enjoy. Don’t miss this place - we can’t wait to go back!
This is the neatest cleanest campground I have ever stayed! Mike and his helper are fantastic. You Will not be disappointed!!! Check out Saxapahaw while you are here.
A good friend and I decided to give this campground a try this past weekend. It is probably the cleanest campground I've ever been on... That includes the bathrooms and showers, which are top notch. The view of the dam and the river just a hundred feet away was great. Our lot included a fire pit, well maintained box grill (zero rust, etc.). The best part of the entire experience was the entire site being completely shaded, unless you spend time on the river. Mike and Luke were completely focused on the guests, which is always a hallmark of a good, private business. I cannot recommend this campground enough, and I will certainly be back!
We happened to find this campground, and we’re so glad we did. The owner is so awesome. The bathrooms are modern and well maintained. The showers are clean. The pathways are lit. There are fire pits and a grilling area. The offer free ice, and they have an honor system for purchasing beer. The campgrounds are right by the dam on the Haw River, and it was amazing! You can hear the sound of the moving water… so nice! They have a tree pod for rent. We will definitely go back
Ok guys,... Listen here.. This is one of the nicest campgrounds I've visited in some time. It has very clean and up-to-date, showers and bathrooms. We were so impressed.. Walkways are well lit and site has a spacious shelter with wifi and beer tap. The owner (Mike) is a natural for making guests feel very much at home.. like really not want to leave... Site sits right on the Haw River, so it has a beautiful waterfront view. This location is primarily set up for tent and hammock camping, but may also accommodate smaller conversion vans/trailers... just no large RVs. Sorry guys..
