The food times are a usual complaint I see on reviews here, but as someone who eats out and goes to higher end places food times are usually 45-1hr for freshly made food. Whenever my food comes out too quickly it’s usually not the best or top quality. This place does it right that’s really all I can say. If you are in town def make sure you get here and get here early! If you have to wait, grab a drink and step outside for some beautiful sound views.”

“We stopped here to buy a pair of sandals and the woman who worked there was so helpful and patient with me. I have feet that change in size and she was so patient helping me try different shoes and recommended what might work for me. My husband thought we overpaid but I checked what they were priced elsewhere and it was the same price. I hope the owner of this place recognizes how good she is. I would’ve walked out of there without buying anything if it wasn’t for her helping me fit the shoes.”

“In May of 2022 we visited LIghthouse Pizza. This used to be Pasquale's Pizza - and when it initially changed ownership it was not great. We tried it again on our recent trip - and there has been a change again - for the better! This time, the pizza we ordered was FABULOUS! They even accommodated a special white pizza request that they had not made before. That pizza was so good we drove back to the shop just to tell them how good it was, and to add it as a regular menu item! It is not "NY pizza", so don't go in expecting that - but it is REALLY GOOD pizza. There were some guys right behind us raving about the food, and waiting for their 7 pizza order! The proprietor was extremely accommodating and we are looking forward to our late September trip to visit again for dinner! 7/16/22 UPDATE..My "special" white pizza with ricotta added to the pie along with tomatoes. Reheated from the freezer tonite and just as delicious as it was when we brought the leftovers home with us in May.”

“My wife and I were on vacation in the outer banks and I’ve been wanting to get better kite line for my big octopus kite. Kitty Hawk didn’t have want I wanted so we stumbled across Flying Smiles, and man am I glad we did. Elliot is an awesome guy. He taught my wife and me so much more in 15 minutes of talking with him than we had in the almost 2 years we have been flying kites. Elliot got me set up with this 500# line for my octopus that has never flown as good as it did with the new heavier line. I hate we live so far away from Flying Smiles, but we will definitely be ordering from their online store!”

“I have always stopped here for gas, and the restroom. The employees are friendly and covid careful..thank you as a compromised immune system heart patient I appreciate that.. bathrooms are always clean, it is a 1 person only single men and women's restroom, stocked and clean everytime I've been in...definitely use a shell or QP savings card it really saves quite a bit per gallon and only takes a minute to set up online account. Otherwise a good place to stop..”

“We did a tour with John barker this week and he was a fantastic guide! So knowledgeable about the beaches, residents, history of the mustangs and even their names! These are an endangered species and this adventure tour company is the ONLY one in OBX that takes a portion of proceeds to focus on buying out land to preserve for the horses - all the others don’t! We will for sure be booking with them again next year to support them on the mission to save the horses, and the drive on the beach was sooo fun too!”

“Absolutely the best climbing adventure around! During our vacation to Corolla, we decided to take on this challenge. And that it was… 4 layers of climbing up, around and through obstacles that increased in difficulty will wear you out! The staff members were extremely knowledgeable, happy and helpful. The challenge is - how far can you go? Be prepared to be tired. They do offer light snacks, ice cream and local beers too. The entire course will take some time to finish because this isn’t your ordinary climbing place! Take the challenge, you won’t regret it. Their pricing of photos and merch is very reasonable. I promise you’ll love this adventure.”

“I love this place so much! I happened upon it exploring Corolla’s charming historic village and I’m so glad I did! This is not your typical touristy souvenir shop. The owners, Karen and John, are lifelong residents of the Outer Banks and they are A RIOT. I loved talking to them and I LOVED every item in their shop. So much that this is the third time in three days I visited them. Go there for the adorable clothing and eclectic decor, and stay awhile to enjoy conversation with the delightful shopkeepers!”

“Really good crab. Not watery, easy to break. Snaps apart like a perfectly cooked crab leg should. I am absolutely stuffed after eating here. Place is smaller than Captain George’s but the quality is WAY better. Not even remotely comparable. They also kept the place packed with food. Zero waiting. Shrimp scampi, fried shrimp, crab legs obviously were all excellent. Had a peanut butter pie for dessert. We were seated first between 4:05 and 4:10. They need a few minutes to set all the food out so don’t feel like you have to show up early.”
