“Coming to Synergy has really changed my relationship with exercise. I love coming in and I always feel better when I leave! The trainers are very supportive and most importantly, nonjudgmental while still challenging us to push ourselves. Even in group classes (which are small) they give attention and personalized cues and adjustments to each individual person. Plus I've gotten to know some wonderful people - Kat really has a knack for bringing everyone into the fold in a way that's comfortable for them. Highly recommend this gym, especially if you're over the weird and sometimes toxic environment at your average gym.”

“I cannot rave about this location enough. I was visiting Durham for 3 months and wanted to join a gym to meet people in the area. I felt welcomed at this F45 immediately! From the staff, to the members- everyone was so nice. It made me look forward to working out. The staff take the time to learn your name, push you through each workout and they challenge you. I’ve gone to many F45s and this one has been my favourite so far. If you’re contemplating trying F45, try this location! It’s a great workout in a studio full of people that are there to better themselves. It’s worth it!”

“I have been attending classes at Wytha Balance for almost two years now. My goal was to increase my flexibility, relax, and work on my posture. Ingrid is a great teacher (the other instructors are also good, but Ingrid teaches primarily). She moves through positions at a decent pace and depending on who is in attendance will alter the flow to include more or less challenging positions. The class is not "hands on" but more of a "follow the leader" type instruction. Ingrid will watch the class however and correct positions as needed. I really enjoy the convenience and family feeling of this studio. Ingrid does run a lot of summer camps and offers children's classes throughout the year.”

“Riki is amazing, plain and simple. Her home and her studio is bright, clean and welcoming. She is kind and friendly and extremely knowledgeable about her craft. She is clearly passionate about Pilates and passing this on to others with all the health benefits and joy that comes with it. I had my first session last week and despite being a bit nervous about my deconditioning and being out of shape, Riki put me at ease immediately and helped me gain confidence with each exercise. After one session I felt leaner and stronger, as crazy as that sounds, but it's true. I carried myself differently after that session with more body awareness and confidence than I've had in years. The session was challenging yet fun and Riki is a fantastic teacher. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to do Pilates at any level and not in a group class or gym setting. I wanted one on one instruction and it was absolutely a great decision. I will definitely be buying more sessions. Worth every penny!!”

“This is a really special studio. Carson visited my yoga teacher training as a guest speaker/instructor and I feel so fortunate that she did. Her knowledge and experience are extensive, making her a fantastic teacher for those of us who approach new classes and different styles of yoga with questions. At the same time Carson brings unique energy and lightness to her classes that keep it fun while challenging. Highly recommend for anyone looking to add something different to their practice. And if you happen to be interested in reiki as well, you have to go.”

“I've gone to the Yoga studio on and off for 5 years, only doing one class (Topaz, which has been great). Today I tried one of their Sparta classes and it was incredible. The individual who ran the class has a nice compliment being intense and informative all at once. Like I hated every second of it and immediately want to sign up again. The individuals taking the class make you feel like you're a regular. If you are at all hesitant about trying a new class or new gym, I would highly encourage you to give them a try. Top notch organization.”

“Love this community! Very knowledgeable and supportive instructors. I appreciate that at every class instructor help meet me where I am in my fitness journey. Not only is the staff amazing but the other member make it a community. Not only a place to work out but, a place to find friends! Lots of social activities outside the gym.”

“I love the trainers here!!!! The classes they offer range from beginner level workouts to advanced boxing techniques. The trainers make sure to incorporate more into their workouts than just boxing (ie. weights, mobility, cardio etc). Plus they always have great upbeat music playing, especially on Wednesday’s at Ladies Night!!!”

“Every week, my sister takes classes here. The place is airy and inspiring. It makes you want to jump rope. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone who wants to get better at jump rope because it is clean and comfortable. The classes are for most ages of kids and you don't need certain shoes or clothes to jump, as long as you wear sneakers.”

“My boyfriend and I dropped in and we just finished the WOD with several awesome members and our amazing coach, Rachel. I couldn’t wait to write this review because this is definitely one of the nicest boxes I’ve been too. They have a strong community atmosphere and an extremely organized gym. They allowed us to bring our dog Toby to hang out in the back (well-behaved dogs welcome upon request I think). We messaged the owner on Facebook to find out about the covid policies. He responded immediately and reserved our spots on the same day. We will definitely be back to drop in when we come back to visit.”

“I work 10 minutes from the Durham studio and live in Carrboro, I attend classes at both studios (though most often I’m at the Durham location). I highly recommend Flow with Ellese, Alaina, and Lee in Durham. Hannah’s early morning flow class in Durham is great too! Alexandra’s Pilates class in Carrboro is amazing. I love this studio for being chill and laid back, local, small, and not corporate. They offer something for everyone - beginners to advanced.”

“I have been training with Jae for almost a year. It has been one of the most fruitful and significant investments of my life. The skills and knowledge I have developed through him transcend worldly and monetary value. Jae is professional, dependable, organized and passionate. I would highly recommend training with Jay with no reservations and feel very fortunate that I made the decision to do so.”

“My friends and I came to Avery Family Farm for a private goat yoga event recently and we had the best time! I loved that Amanda let us choose exactly how much yoga we wanted to do - and in the end we opted mostly for just cuddling with all the goats! The goats were very sweet and snuggly and Amanda was very informative, telling us all of the goats names and answering all of our questions. I will definitely be back!”

“Just finished a class. Great atmosphere, instructors, and music. The workouts are efficient and challenging. The climber is low impact but high intensity! A huge plus to keep this as a longer term fitness option. Try a TNP class for yourself. You won’t be disappointed.”

“I've only been inside the cardio area due to the pandemic but I've had a good experience. The pool is nice looking. They have a lot of machines. They definitely keep up with the cleaning measures which makes me feel safe. Their online sign up works well and Madeline is very helpful.”

“This place is amazing! Each and every workout is unique and keeps you engaged the entire time. Barrett puts in time and energy into planning each class to be fun and challenging and will happily accommodate different skills levels. The community is wonderful and will even do canoeing together for a workout! I highly recommend this place for an energetic, unique, and challenging workout.”

“I started lifting with Brian at ActiveEdge about 7/8 months ago and not only have I been pushed everyday I come in, but all the trainers are always so nice to me, even at 6:15 am. They not only motivate me to be a better athlete, but they also help you when you aren’t having a good day or you just don’t know how to do a certain move. The culture at ActiveEdge is unlike any other gym, there is an emphasis on hard work but also inclusivity. ActiveEdge has really helped me become a stronger, faster, and more confident athlete; I would 100% recommend working out at ActiveEdge, or even doing PT with some of their highly qualified PT’s! - Katie Kerman”

“This place is a dream come true. I just moved to the area and have trained at gyms all over Asia and the U.S., and this is one of the best I've ever experienced. From the second I walked in the door I felt welcomed like family. The vibe here is incredible. I feel both challenged to push beyond my comfort zones, and always safe that I will be given all the tools to get there. The coaches are serious, focused, incredible, and classes have mixed levels which at first I thought would intimidate me but actually makes everything better because you learn watching the advanced people and everyone is so focused on improving themselves and supporting each other that you never feel out of place whether it's your first day or your thousandth. That is not an easy balance to strike! And definitely is a testament to the values and spirit of the founder and leader of the gym. Plus there's a friendly dog who sometimes shows up to give you side-eye if you're not jumping rope fast enough. I can't say enough good things about this gym! It's incredible.”

“High quality instruction. The owner/primary instructor has a great attitude (truly, a vibe). One thing I specifically appreciate about this studio is the room temp - it's hot yoga, but it's not the *hottest* yoga I've ever experienced. The room is heated, but not so much that I'm more focused on managing my sweat than holding the pose.”

“I come here just for the basketball, and the competition is great. Probably wouldn’t recommend if you’re looking for more casual games. Court is decent (it’s bigger than what you see at LA fitness), and I like the taped down three point line that’s farther out. For some reason, lights are pretty dim, but it doesn’t get in the way of playing.”

“I could not be happier to have found IKAIKA. Coach Einar is motivating, encouraging, and helps us to achieve our best potential. I am so happy to have found a gym full of positivity where my classmates feel like family! I would highly recommend this gym to anyone looking to make a serious change in their life and overall health!”

“This space is nice. I think it's geared towards more experienced yogis and there aren't a ton of slower class options in the schedule (the Slow Burn class is challenging but accessible, in my opinion, but only offered once a week). Other participants seem to be very experienced and the studio offers a lot of classes/options that I should have realized are for experienced people. I think that's where this studio is geared and I won't fault them for my mistake as I'm positive this is a wonderful place if you are already great at/comfortable with yoga but if you feel at all like a beginner or need really clear cues because you don't feel confident in your practice I don't recommend it unless you're trying the specifically slow classes. YMMV though, obviously!”
