Dead Broke Farm

We had a great trail ride. The owner is stern, but definitely necessary when you’re dealing with large animals and groups of people. She’s very nice and would answer questions. My daughter had a wonderful time. Would definitely come back someday.

We purchased a beautiful draft horse from Dead Broke Farm and couldn’t be more delighted with our purchase. Our horse was delivered healthy and happy to her new home in California. I must include that I have completely fallen in love with her. Everything they said she is, she is and i am truly amazed at her intelligence and sweetness to me. She has been a great horse to ride, even for some in our family who are new to riding! I am grateful for all the care and training that has been put into my horse by all at Dead Broke Farm. They were very helpful in the buying and delivering process and continue to be with any questions. If we decide to buy again, I will be checking there first! And if I do get a chance to come to the east coast, I look forward to visiting them and meeting them face to face! I couldn’t recommend this business more.

My boys, Nicholas and Henry have been there for 3 days this week. This camp is the BEST camp we have tried. When we arrived, Miss Jean, checked us in. Miss Jean immediately put us all at ease since were were newbies. She told my boys (7 and 9) where they could roam on the farm and off they went! I liked that they learned some independence and getting to know new people on their own, right away. This is a great camp for kids who need to build that confidence. It’s also great for parents too, who need to let their children have some experiences where they have to use their voice and try new things. When the boys got home they were ELATED! They talked about their horses by name and all of the fun things they did (yes, they seemed to enjoy cleaning up after the horses too). They got to ride the horses and everything. We WILL do this again. Everyday, we received amazing pictures of everything they were doing and I’m so thrilled that we did this. Thank you to the Farm and thank you Miss Jean!

My child LOVES Dead Broke. This is our second summer here and she would go every week if she were able. The staff are friendly, they ride different trails every day and she loves the independence this program offers. Last year we went two weeks, this year we signed up for three, and next summer we will be back for more! I highly recommend dead broke to both the first timer and the experienced horseback rider!

Came with a group of family and friends, where they had the group trail ride and I had the personal ride. Mine was an excellent experience, as I was lucky enough to ride with Carla (the owner) who guided me along the path with ease, was friendly, honest, funny, all with the best of southern hospitality. My friends also said they had an awesome time. I highly suggest everyone who want to try out an awesome outdoor activity combined with walk around the forest. Came to visit from MD; I am definitely coming back here when I visit NC next time.
