“I am the Optometrist responding to the review by Gary Dobson. Mr. Dobson had made an appointment with our office but had not provided his insurance information. As a courtesy to our patients we verify insurance coverage prior to the day of the examination so that time is not spent doing that at the actual visit -it can sometimes take awhile to verify insurance depending on the policy, and it may save them a trip if their coverage is not what they expected. The day prior to his appointment, I called Mr. Dobson to confirm as well as inquire about his insurance info. (He spoke with me because my office manager is on maternity leave so I am also handling some of her duties). He stated that he would just bring it to the appointment. I reminded him that it is to his benefit to have us verify his coverage prior to the visit. At that, he said "you know what just cancel it" and hung up. I am sorry if Mr. Dobson got the wrong impression, but I can assure you that everything we do here is patient-focused, including verifying their insurance in advance of their appointment. I have been at this location for 22 years and I pride myself on going the extra mile for my patients, and I would be glad to do so for Mr. Dobson should he chose to come in.”

We have tried several other memory care facilities and no one comes even close to the care and love Mom has gotten at Brookdale Chapel Hill.
