Old Salem Museum & Gardens

Old Salem is an amazing little place, it's not what many areas like this are where you have to pay for everything, it's super well maintained and you can quite literally feel the history here. Whether you are here to walk, take pictures, or just to go back in time this is a not-so-hidden gem of our city that makes you realize just how great our little area is!

We absolutely loved our short stay at the Old Salem Museum and Gardens. The town is full of historical buildings (1700’s and 1800’s) and beautiful gardens. The museum staff is very nice. They told us to park the RV in the back parking lot, which is spacious and quiet. There’s a farmer’s market with a bunch of fresh produce and crafts on Sundays. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay! My family has been coming to Salem for years. We have experienced the village and museums when it is closed and open. Both are delightful, pleasant ways to visit. The Moravian Village is a favorite. We go every time we visit Winston-Salem. Allow 4-6 hours to experience the Village when venues are open. Ticket purchase is required to enter several historical buildings. Parking is available at the Visitors Center. Students including college (with ID) get discount.

Beautiful historic town. Small enough you can see most of it in a day, but interesting enough to spend 2 days. It's a great place to disconnect from our electronic lives
