Carrboro Community Garden

Just stopped by to check this place out. Great place to bring the kidos, nice play ground, rest rooms were decent, people were walking around the trails, nice picnic area as well!

Beautiful park with a 1/4 mile peat gravel trail.

If you can't garden there is a bike park, playground, trails, walking track, bathrooms, picnic areas.

Such a treasure! Carrboro Community Garden is a wonderful example of what volunteers can do when a town gives support by providing land and some materials.
When I checked it out last spring I was welcomed warmly. I was given a tour of the garden. I was offered as much or as little gardening instructions for me to begin participating. My questions were welcomed and answered kindly.
For me, participating here has meant I could do a bit of gardening again (which I can't do otherwise since I now live in an apartment) and an opportunity to become a part of our local community.
The Queen Bee, one of the leaders named Michele, is a wonderful leader. Her communication skills are notably excellent and kindly, and her gardening knowledge is deep.
This garden is a local gem!

The park still needs some finishing, but it's a great open space, with a bicycle park, a playground, walking path, bathroom, and basic exercise areas. They have kept the community garden. It's much larger than it looks from the road. There is not a lot of parking space, probably because it is intended for the neibourghhood around, or to bike to it.
