“went to see Allegra because I needed to lose some additional weight, and wanted to be sure I was eating as healthy as possible. With all the nutrition and weight loss info out there, often conflicting, it was becoming difficult to know what the healthiest way to eat, , and how to achieve weight loss. I had been stuck for about 3 years after having lost a lot of weght. I considered myself a fairly healthy eater, but my diet obviously needed some tweaking, and that's where Allegra came in. I kept a food log for a month prior to our visit so she'd have a good idea of what my daily diet was like, and what I liked to eat. When we had our first visit, she helped me devise my eating around what I like, and listened to all my history, concerns, etc to come up with the best plan for me with many suggestions for optimizing my diet for both health and weight loss. After each visit, she sends a detailed report regarding our discussions, and includes some additional menu ideas, shopping lists, and all the discussion and suggestions. She is very accessible via phone, email or text for follow-up or questions, and is really a pleasure to work with. I am losing weight, and feel like my choices now are all healthy ones. I didn't have to make drastic changes, but they were significant changes and have made all the difference. I am much more cognizant of what I'm eating, and it has not been torturous to make changes and start losing weight. I went from feeling a bit lost to feeling a lot more confident about my eating and being able to attain my weight and health goals. I would highly recommend Allegra, whether for weight loss, or just more healthful eating. She is a gem.”

“This church finally got its own 24/7 space in Nov 2021, after growth in temporary spaces for 10 years (from a photography studio above a bar (before my time), through space at Evergreen UM, the UNC Botanical Gardens, and the open-air Carriage House during the pandemic.) Since I was one of the tech-savvy people enabling remote participation when the Botanical Gardens was closed to us, I'm especially delighted and amazed by the ways that having new, dedicated space offers new opportunities. (Nice chairs that don't have to be stashed away! Taking out walls and building reredos to change a space designed for office work into worship and fellowship space! Opening the space for people working remotely to come together at Ora et Labora on Wednesdays! Porch food distribution box on site! Exploring the history of non-violent protests at the Watts Hotel and Grill on the property in the early 1960s and applying for an NC Civil Rights Trail marker to commemorate them! And beautiful space for the calm, Montessori-like children's program!) The worship is liturgical, with Eucharist (communion) each Sunday, but the opportunities and contributions to the community go beyond the two Sunday morning services. Come and see what you think.
