Cleaned the plate! Soft/tender BBQ chicken. Fried chicken was tasty. Sweet potatoes fries were the perfect mix of savory and sweet. Potato salad did not disappoint. Everything was good!
I walked inside and had to wait about 30 minutes. This was around 2:30 last Sunday. The drive thru isn't safe bc it goes out into the highway. The cars are traveling at a swift rate. I encourage customers to park and pay in the side. You will have to watch out for the drive thru but it's safer. People will watch out for you walking around but the high way is not safe. Food is amazing just just not a safe drive through on the weekends. Customer service was still amazing just very quick because they have tons of customer. They didn't have peach cobbler this time.
It is HOPPIN' on Sunday at lunch after church. Barely a place to park. So you know it's gonna be good.
Authentic Eastern NC pulled pork (made with vinegar) and delicious homemade sides. Go for the family style meals and all-you-can-eat! Add a side for $0.99/person.
I will say that my 4 year old doesn't eat $8+ of food so it's a bit pricy for the younger ones to have to do all-you-can-eat for them at that price (I think they should price 3-6 year-olds cheaper than doing the full 3-10 year-olds at that price). The whole table has to do it.
Worth visiting if you are from out of town or if local, a great place to frequent.
We usually get food through the drive thru but tried dining in for family style. You definitely get the most out of your money! We only paid $12.50 per person. The food was delicious. Definitely recommend! (Not pictured is the delicious banana pudding & cobbler)
Wife and I finally made it out to The Original Carolina Barbecue of Garner, Inc today for lunch and I have to say it was even better than I was expecting, especially given the ridiculous 1 star reviews from some boneheads on here who would rather complain needlessly vs giving an honest review. The BBQ isn't wood fired but still very respectable and tasty chopped pork with great flavor. Vinegar based sauces were great. Fried chicken was delicious, up with some of the best I've had. Boiled potatoes were just ok very similar to Stephenson's. Fried okra was excellent and crispy, a must-have item if you're a fan of Okra. Hush puppies were very good and also crispy though I'm honestly not a big fan of the corn sticks. They aren't bad but were a little too crispy and not something I'd order again. Mac n cheese was moist, cheesy and light on taste but I liked it. Collards were soft as I prefer but I did not care for the taste. The wife liked them though as that's one of her fav things to sample. The service was great and the restaurant was very clean and roomy. All in all we had a great experience here and for me this is one of the better local bbq joints in or near the triangle. Cheers!
