“Chaiyse did a great job on my hair! We had a consultation at first ,which went well and she answered all of my questions, was prepared, knowledgeable about natural curly hair for a black/ mixed woman & the rapport was great. She asked me questions also. I knew what I wanted. I am very particular. Even with the products and tools used on my hair. I told her I specifically wanted FINGER COILING method on my natural hair, which I get done in Miami at the Curl Whisperer (amazing!). However, I had moved to Charlotte and was SEARCHING for a natural curly/coily hair stylist that could do this for me- it was a very difficult task, as NC is not as diverse as Miami or Fort Lauderdale, sadly. I had a couple consultations with other stylists and to me, Chaiyse was the best fit. She took her time and I was pleased with the outcome of my curls. My only suggestion would be for the OWNER to UPDATE their WEBSITE, so there is a set price and Finger Coiling Style to choose from. Natural curly or kinky hair can be styled with spiral perm rods, rod sets, bantu knots/chiney bumps, flat twists, braid outs, silky press, blow outs-- there a lot of options and a versatile well trained stylist should know how to work on all types of hair and people. When I first got the Finger coiling method at Knockout Hair studio, a month ago, it was $45 and I was told to choose Curly medium cut, now I went back on the website and the Curly medium cut is now $56 ( so price increase in a month). When I called back, I was told by Chaiyse to choose Coily medium cut which is $79, which is $34 increase in a month and more expensive than Miami, Florida ...in Concord NC...hmm. There needs to be CONGRUENCY and a standard price for this Finger Coiling Style and an OPTION on their website to be added for the client to choose. Also more options for styling naturally curly or kinky coily hair. I see the potential in this place. I have to drive 20-30 mins on the highway from Charlotte to go here, so I hope I can keep coming here to see Chaiyse style my hair or I will have to look somewhere closer to uptown that is more affordable, closer (less gas) and has these options on their website with a set standard price. I'm a bit disappointed in that. Or just stick to Curly whisperer in Miami which is a miracle worker and 5 stars. All in all, Chaiyse is an absolute gem and I did like how my hair turned out. She puts me at ease and she is an asset to that salon and I really think she can take that place to higher levels if she continues and really expand it for natural curly/kinky hair especially for persons of color. I'm glad I found this place & i plan to return for their $10 Tuesday & Wednesdays special for blowouts and silk press going on! - An app for this hair studio would be clutch also! Easier and convenient to navigate in this modern time.”
