The museum is amazing- so many cool artifacts and pieces of witchcraft history. The tour guide was super fun and down to earth. Had a lot of cool stories to share about the pieces and about pieces not in the museum. He definitely knew what he was talking about. Plus his store was super affordable and had a lot of cool stuff that I wouldn’t find elsewhere. Will definitely be back!
A truly magical place to visit in Cleveland. It's a must for anyone with any level of interest in history, and an absolute landmark for enthusiasts of witchcraft and magic. Whether you're a seasoned aficionado in the subject or not, the Buckland Museum will blow your mind with it's gorgeous historical artifacts, interactive exhibitions, expansive literature to take home, and the gift shop is a one-stop-shop for fun. Can't recommend this place enough. Go!
There isn’t a better place to learn about the history of witchcraft and its modern forms. The artifacts in their collection are some of the rarest and most important pieces you’ll find anywhere.
Practitioners of the craft need to make the pilgrimage to this place.
If you’re more of a casual witch-adjacent type, you’ll still love it. There’s tons to look at and it feels just like the rare occult bookshops you see on your favorite spooky shows.
I'm not sure how I've missed this gem in the decade plus that I've lived in the area, but am so happy I know about it now. A visiting friend was researching things to do in Cleveland. We've, over the years, visited pretty much all of the well known attractions. She came across the Buckland Museum of Witchcraft & Magick and scheduled a tour for today. The owner, Steven, was wonderful. Very engaging, knowledgeable and injected just the right amount of humor into his tour. I really didn't expect to take a full hour and a half to explore the museum, as it isn't the largest setup, but the time flew by. The collection is extensive and varied. Steven was on hand to answer any questions we had or to point out some of the more interesting pieces. The bookstore / gift shop is well curated. I will definitely be adding the museum to my rotation of attractions to introduce folks to!
The museum curator was honestly the highlight of our trip. I've been a practicing pagan for a couple years and I can understand why visitors come from states all over. He is so full of knowledge, stories, and secrets. He even shared information I plan on using in my own craft I wouldn't have thought of. I seriously recommend any practitioner visit this museum if they're able, plus it's only $8!! I would have happily paid over $20 for the experience. Curator aside, the museum is filled with really beautiful and unique pieces I was surprised were in Cleveland. I can't wait to go back and show my friends!
