“From East Boulevard, the garden has a broad paved walkway leading to a large piazza with a fountain and a balustrade overlooking the Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway. The front of the piazza is a backdrop to the amphitheater accessed by a pair of spiral stairs. The front facing the Parkway and Parkgate Ave. has bas-relief heads of Giotto, Michelangelo and Petrarca on the left and Giuseppe Verdi, Leonardo da Vinci and Guglielmo Marconi on the right. Entering the garden, before the piazza, there is a statue of Dante Alighieri to the left. He is seated, with a book and holding a pen. On the base in the front is a quote from the Heaven section of the Divine Comedy. On Dante's right is a quote from Hell and on his left a quote from Purgatory. Sadly the small statues that must have decorated the small alcoves in the base have disappeared. This section of the garden also has a rock from Monte Grappa that memorializes the Ohio soldiers who fell on Italian soil during the First World War. To the right as you enter is a bust of the poet Virgil.”

“My now 17 yr old son has been going and hanging out there with his friends for years. Not sure if Oball is still played there but I have such good memories of those days. Me and a friend of mine took her 4 yr old daughter there about a week ago, some writing on the slides, nothing I saw was vulgar, but overall they keep up with the park pretty well. I would and have recommend it to friends.”

“The Metroparks are a great to get a feel for the land, traffic-free! At the Garfield Hts Metropark, the Mill Creek gives you a nice woodsy view of Broadway avenue, with some good hills to climb. But nothing crazy! I recommend it!”

“We had an awesome time staying at this campground. The gate attendant was nice and friendly, and the place was well kept and clean (including the bathrooms). The views from our site were stunning. Most of the sites are situated on the lake, so there is always a picturesque view of the lake like when you wake up in the morning or just anytime of the day. Each RV campsite has a picnic table with benches, barbecue grill, fire pit, water and electric hookups. Plus you cannot beat their rates. There is no sewer hookup, but the dump station is located prior to the exit gate at the front. We truly enjoyed our stay here in that we already made plans to visit this place again.”

“Nice trail but parking lot is small. Oh well there's many other ways to access towpath. Saw 2 bald eagle's. And 1 in flight. Majestic!! Also a huge flock of seagulls (Edit: Later, I noticed either I mistakenly put a low rating, or there's a problem within the app. Either way, I rate this location, of Metroparks a 5)”

“Love the history here! They have done an amazing job on this park! I was shocked about the remarkable architecture and everything to look at! They even have a nice sitting area. I have always loved walking along the beach, but now it is more inviting than ever! I recommend walking up the pier towards the lake! It is a beautiful sight to witness. Make sure you stop and read all of the placards that are now up! All kinds of history is there.”

“Margins wharf great restaurant. Nice patio on river. Monica, our waitress, wonderful. Burgers, onion rings with cheese and walleye sandwich all delicious. Limited menu maybe due to covid. Will be putting igloo up for cooler weather for further outside dining. And, an ice rink I was told in parking lot area. Best to make reservations though.”
