“I had an officer hang up on me over the phone and treat me poorly. It upset me. I messaged the department on Facebook and I'm impressed and appreciate that they took the time to watch this officers body camera to check my claims and took my message seriously. The city I grew up in would not have handled it that well. I greatly appreciate their response. This department actually has PR and checks on claims of misconduct which is shocking. But they only allow you to file reports in person. They need to allow you to file reports online like other departments do. They claimed most departments don't offer this but they are incorrect on this. I know because I worked in insurance and dealt with PDs daily where my customers filed reports online. It is very very common with police departments and Garfield should catch up with the rest. But thank you for actually responding and following up.”
