“I really enjoyed my experience with my son at this swim school… until the egg ceremony. They do this thing where once your kid graduates to the deep end of the pool, they take him to the showers, and pelt him with eggs in “celebration”. The staff gathers around the child throwing eggs and laughing. I thought this was a rumor when I first signed up, but it is 100% true. They did a great job at teaching my son how to swim, but he came back to the car crying.”

The Best Elementary School in Ohio state THE HISTORY OF OLENTANGY LOCAL SCHOOLS In the early 1900’s one room school houses scattered among the landscape made up the local education system. Beginning in 1911, those schools consolidated into four K-12 facilities. Powell school was the first to open in 1911 followed by Hyatts in 1914, Berlin in 1915 and Orange in 1916. These were the only schools in the area until 1952 when construction began on one consolidated school located on Shanahan Road. The new school, Olentangy High School, allowed students in grades 1-8 to remain at their original school then come together for grades 9-12. In 1961 Liberty Union Elementary School was built as a junior high school for kindergarten, seventh and eighth grade students. The new school was built as a neighbor to the Olentangy High School on Shanahan Road and was open to students in 1963. In 1969 some major changes began when the Orange school closed and the Shanahan Road complex housed students in grades K-12 for the first time. In 1973, Berlin, Hyatts and Powell schools also closed bringing all of the students in the area to one general location on Shanahan Road. The connection between the Liberty Union Elementary School and Olentangy High School was completed allowing room for all students in one general campus. The district continued operating this way until 1990 when Olentangy High School opened on Lewis Center Road for students in grades 9-12. Since 1990 the district has experienced a tremendous increase in student enrollment and has grown to a total of 23 schools -15 elementary schools, five middle schools and a three high schools. “I have to say this daycare does not hold a candle to 90% of Daycares I researcher. My son started here as his first daycare. Our family moved out of town for awhile and tried another daycare that was closer to our home. What a MISTAKE! The quality of care that The Kiddie Academy offers is fantastic. I enjoy the daily reports and pictures of my child that are sent to my email after each pick up. My child is excited to wake up and go each morning. The staff, teachers, curriculum, atmosphere, and owners are phenomenal.”

“We absolutely LOVE Prep Academy! Our daughter has been going there since she was 3 months old and we have always had the best experience. We chose Prep because of the educational focus that it had with students of all ages (even infants) but we have stayed and loved it because of the teachers and staff. Everyone there has been extremely loving and caring towards our daughter and all the students. They are so creative and do all kinds of fun art projects and activities with the children of all ages, but the best thing is that our daughter is continuing to learn new things and develop her education because she attends school at Prep. Even at a young age, she loves going to school each day! Prep also has an app that allows you to get regular updates on your children (eating, potting, etc.) and to see pictures throughout the day, which is very reassuring to new time parents. I have recommended this school to multiple friends with children of older ages as well, and they love it just as much and also say how much their children are learning now that they are at Prep! I would absolutely recommend Prep Academy Polaris to anyone that is looking for childcare and schooling for their children.”

One bad thing is that the bully rate is rather large, but as I said, the good people you hang out with will help you with that problem. “I have peace of mind knowing that my children are in good hands at ECKC. The full time in person kindergarten can’t be beat and Miss Farley is excellent! My son is excited to go to school and tells me daily all that he is learning. Pre pandemic, my daughter also attended their kindergarten enrichment program. Before and aftercare as well as bussing to and from her elementary school on her olentangy in class days was available. Now, in 1st grade with a pandemic, ECKC offers Club Connect to help my daughter with schoolwork on her at home learning days on the hybrid schedule. I appreciate the assistance and communication of the staff and as much as I wish things could go back to normal, I am so grateful this option exists. We have been with EC as a whole for over seven and have been very happy. I highly recommend.”
