Barn Restaurant

Been going here since a toddler. Never gets old when you want some good, old fashioned, down home, Amish cookin. Their fried is solid, nic and crisp, batter not too thick, and tender, juicy meat. Their roast beef is amazingly delicious. Their mash is awesome, had two helpings last night, a long with some awesome beef gravy. My wife got some of their bratwurst and sauerkraut. Excellent!!! Not rubbery at all, very tender! Bread pudding is very mild, but has that awesome custard texture. Now pair that with their apple butter and homemade whipped cream and you got a freaking full stomach for 2 days! Yeah. The only thing I didn't care for was the green beans and rolls. Both were mediocre. Other than that, awesome place to dine.

The broasted chicken here is phenomenal. The homemade soups are always a favorite of mine. We ate the buffet, and we were a little worried because a tour bus arrived full of high school students just after we did. But the kitchen kept up with the food and there was very little wait. Our little server was busting her tail, but she kept my son's drink replenished consistently even! (I wouldn't have blamed her if she hadn't. It was slammed!)

We have been twice recently. The service has been fantastic both times. Very friendly and attentive staff. The soups have been good both times. The salad bar is oddly laid out as you have to go on both sides back and forth to assemble a salad. It would be better if all salad fixings were on one side and the other side was fruit, cottage cheese, puddings, etc. The hot food has been very good especially the fried chicken, roast beef, and ham. The first visit had mac and cheese but was missing this last visit and that was definitely missed. We definitely will return when in the area.

Note: Closed on Sunday and Monday. Best buffet I ever had, and I’ve had many of them! The fried chicken is my favorite fuel, and they really know how to season it and prepare it’s texture for a pleasing taste sensation! The mashed potatoes and gravy is a joy to savor: I consider myself an expert in this area… Don’t overlook the pies, cakes, and puddings. If you don’t have room left over for it after dinner, buy some to take home. You will be glad you did! Cheers!
