What a nice park! My kids had a great time on the playground and swings, there are picnic tables and benches, and a bathroom. My spouse, three kids, and I stopped here on our trip from New York to Indiana and will come back again!
Great park to sled ride, also has easy access to the river. Lots of picnic tables and a large pavilion. There is a children's playground (it is in full sun). Not a very good hiking park as the trail dead ends and is relatively short.
This is by far my favorite park to go to for hunting mushrooms. After a good rain, a variety of shrooms pop their fruiting heads in abundance it's mesmerizing everytime I go. Another special finding at this park is my 12 year old daughter, boyfriend, and I, found that someone left gemstones hidden along the trails. I've been a collector since I was very young so it was a real treat for me. To help spread the love of geology we left plenty hidden for other trailblazers and hopefully future collectors to discover. This park has picnic tables, it's dog-friendly. No restrooms or playground. I highly recommend this awesome little park for any type of nature lover.
Great little place to enjoy the day. I attended a graduation party there. Nature trails, big sledding hill to play on, playground, swings, pavilion, plenty of picnic tables, fire pit with already supplied wood to burn, a couple of outhouse type bathrooms, no running water that I noticed, grills and the best part to me was the river behind us. Water was barely ankle deep, perfect for the kids to safely play and skip stones. It may be deeper in other areas but we didn’t venture too far. Altogether, a real nice, quiet, relaxing atmosphere to enjoy with the family!
It is beautiful, relaxing, spacious, clean, has everything other than mosquito repellent you could want for a trip to the park. The only things I was not totally satisfied with was the water was so contaminated it was oily green in some places and multiple oily colors elsewhere. It smelled terrible, and the mosquitoes and other insects were ferocious, but I understand it is a place of nature so due to the water and the bushes and grass they will be around. It is a wonderful place though, they have fire pits, plenty of restrooms, trails, waterfall, river, playground, anything you would need for a full day spent in nature. Also they are open until 11:00 PM if I'm not mistaken,so you really spend a whole day exploring, fishing, playing with your children and dog, and then kick back and enjoy a fire in the evening. Dogs are permitted there but I would advise you bring your own disposal bags to clean up after them because I didn't see anything there to use.
