Clyde C. Hadden Park

Address: 105 Everett Rd, Painesville, OH 44077, USA

Park

“Nice pavilion for party's and plenty of space to have fun. Playground is great for the little ones. The basketball court could use some rims and nets as it is just backboards.”

Beaty Landing

Address: 543 East Walnut Street & 477 East Walnut Street, State Route 84, Painesville, OH 44077, USA

Park

“Nice local park with a nice picnic pavilion and nature trails. The gravel loop is exactly 1200 meters and then the grass loop added on is slightly over a mile long when added on to the gravel loop as one big loop. The grass trails are not as smooth as the gravel ones though, so watch your footing when running. The steep hill down to the gravel trail from the parking lot is crumbling pavement that's very bumpy and bad footing, so that could be resurfaced. Our cross country team enjoys running here on a regular basis. It would be nice if the side walk on the side of the road that the park is on was extended down the hill to the park to make it more safely accessible by foot from that busy road and nearby neighborhoods.”

Penitentiary Glen Reservation

“My favorite park. Sunday the trains were running and the excitement on the kids faces was priceless. There is a great play area for the kids. My wife and I hiked 2.63 miles on the rabbit run trail. Very beautiful although a bit muddy in places. Check this place out!”

Lake Erie Bluffs (Lake Metroparks)

Address: 3301 Lane Rd, Painesville, OH 44077, USA

Park

“Another great Lake Metropark. Whether you want to sit on a bench and look at Lake Erie and listen to the waves, have a picnic on one of the scattered tables or in the pavilion, take a nice walk on level crushed gravel paths, or watch a sunset, this is the perfect place for those activities. The walking paths take you through wooded areas, grassy areas overlooking the lake, and areas with Meadows and wild bushes that are nice for bird watching or observing butterflies. If you pay attention you might even see some bald eagles by the shoreline. There is a very nice pavilion with restrooms. Across from the pavilion you will see a set of steps that go down to the lake. The steps are not very steep and there are four or five small landings on the way down so it isn't too hard to get down next to the water. However the very last step is a lot higher when you climb back up from the beach. At the bottom you will see a lot of large rocks for erosion control and a small sandy strip that has quite a few rocks and sticks, so it's not great to use as a beach but more as a place to get a little closer to the water and observe the lake for a bit.”

Couple of pavillions, permanent cornhole boards, basketball court, and playground. It's a shame the fire ring has been gone for many years. Was great to stay up late and listen to the old timers.”

Carol H Sweet Nature Center

Address: 5185 Corduroy Rd, Mentor, OH 44060, USA

Park

“Good resource to check out what's going on in the Headlands Marsh. With trails and paths to follow, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy nature and get a little exercise- hiking or walking, running, exploring with little ones. Great for photographers and birding too. SO. MANY. BIRDS! You will likely see a passer-by or two on the paths (local runners, young families). Definitely a great launch pad for a day outdoors, or to learn something at one of the educational events! Staff is informative--they are not always the center. Warmer, humid weather brings out the bugs and allergens In Force, so plan accordingly. You don't have to go to the nature center to enjoy the different trails around the headlands- look around on Google maps. The Carol H Sweet Nature Center is The Place for all things "nature-related" in the headlands marsh. Happy trails!”

Todd Field

Address: Willoughby, OH 44094, USA

Park

“Local river park with some paths through the woods and down to various spots along the Chagrin River. 6 baseball fields, concession stands that are open during games, a indoor bathroom that is open in the late spring until fall. Playground, picnic tables and a Pavillion. Greater Cleveland's best sled riding hill. A great park.”

Lake Metroparks Farmpark

Address: 8800 Euclid Chardon Rd, Kirtland, OH 44094, USA

Park

“Great environment. Friendly staff. Happy animals. A truly wonderful experience where you can experience a pleasant well kept environment and lovely animals. The staff had great recommendations and were super friendly and welcoming. We got to pet the cows (Maggie, Lola, Dot and many more), the sheep shearing event was already over sadly. The goats and bunnies were lively and allowed us a lot of time to enjoy their furry goodness. Their tiny train tracks and little village were awesome too! All in all, great well kept environment to take the entire family on a fun animal adventure. 100% recommend!”

Grand River Village Merrick Hutchinson Memorial Park

Park

“Very nice park”

City of Mentor Dog Park

Address: 6647 Hopkins Rd, Mentor, OH 44060, USA

“Nice park, not too busy but usually a few dogs there. Ideal for any tentative pups. All dog side has tons of room to run around, a tunnel, and play place kind of thing. Our boy looks forward to going all day long!”

Campbell Park

Address: 35405 Chardon Rd, Willoughby Hills, OH 44094, USA

Park

“It is a good place with a lot of things for the kids to do and the shelters are big enough for a large group”

Headlands Beach State Park

Address: 9601 Headlands Rd, Mentor, OH 44060, USA

Park

“This is a large decent beach area. I only say decent because it's very rocky, particularly at the waterline. There is ample parking here, and a lot of restrooms. There are picnic areas, and a paved walking path as well. A nice park for a short getaway, I wouldn't drive much more than an hour to get here though.”
