PierLon is a great facility. It is primarily set up for seasonal units. The only recommendation I would have is more gravel in the rv spots for overnight RVers. The staff is extremely nice.
People who run the campground are VERY friendly and accommodating. The campground is quiet and the surroundings are peaceful, beautiful and very clean.
Some of my Greatest memories as a kid growing up were at Peir lon. My grandpa Howard Gee use to PREACH and play his base guitar every summer . My grandma Hope Gee took me their for swimming lessons and camping . I learned how to swim at pier lon -- Fawn memory's . Great Family atmosphere . Well managed and clean . I would highly recommend this for families . My Grandparents Howard and Hope Gee we're good friends with the founders- will all be surely missed. . - Paul Gee
Pastor Bill is the man. This place is so great for kids and the disc golf course is incredible fun. Going for year 3 coming up!
This park is truly a getaway. It isn't near anything which makes it all the more appealing. It is HUGE and surrounded by the tallest trees. Tons of greenspace, a swimming beach, ice cream shop, and a diving platform in the middle of the lake. Totally reminded us of summer camp from back in the day! All kinds of space to walk dogs, and for kids to run around. Our pull thru FHU was level and we had no issues with the hook ups. The spaces gave you some elbow room but no privacy. The CG was extremely quiet although quite full. HEADS UP: We arrived using the directions posted to the Pier-Lon website which were completely different than what GPS was suggesting. The laundry room was neat and clean, air conditioned, and had a little library of books and magazines. 5 washers ($2) and 5 dryers ($1.50).
Only a few downsides: 1) the restrooms/showers were in desperate need of upgrading; they may have been clean but the showers looked very scary. I was very thankful we were self-contained. 2) there are posted rules that no alcohol is allowed and they reserve the right to inspect your cup/cooler. I understand wanting to maintain a quiet, family atmosphere but really? I can't be trusted to have an adult beverage and not become a menace? 3) internet coverage was AWFUL. We never have issues with T-Mobile or ATT but they were both crawling which made it difficult to work remotely and stream movies. I couldn't even get phone calls to go through! Not the CG's fault of course, but something worth mentioning. Bottom line: we loved it and would come back in a heartbeat.
