  Mr. Zhu is truly an ELITE instructor and musician, otherworldly and unmatched in the Greater Dayton area. The expanse of his musical knowledge and even general knowledge outside the world of music is so vast it is mind-boggling, he’s got the best exercise books memorized from left to right, and the greatest compositions of music from top to bottom. With his knowledge and experience, he knows what students struggle with, he’s able detects your mistakes, whether big or small, and he is willing to help you correct them one by one overtime. Mr. Zhu’s got all the good stuff and the bestest secrets to help succeed and he constantly pushes you to greater limits to become the best musician you can be!! (Mr. Zhu even hosted a recital recently to form connections between students and share great music!)
  
  Under Mr. Zhu’s mentorship, my violin skills and musical knowledge improved immensely, as well as learned many valuable lessons along the way (let’s just say that my brain has packed on some big time weight), but most importantly, I have gained confidence, motivation, and a passion for violin that I never thought I would have when I picked up violin almost 3 years ago as a beginner that knew little about music. Thank you, Mr. Zhu! It is of great privilege to be your student!

  My daughters who are 12 and 8 have been studying piano and violin with Mr. Zhu over a year and half.
  Mr. Zhu is very professional on coaching my kids at their early young and early teen age. He is also a experienced instructor who has been involved in hundreds of show. We recently have a recital at church and kids were showing their talent which has been found by such a great instructor.
  I highly recommend Mr.Zhu as a instructor for parents if you are seeking who is professional, experienced and full of passion of what is he doing.

  Whether you are an aspiring musician or just taking lessons for fun, Mr. Zhu is a unique and compassionate teacher who will help you reach your goals. His teaching and musical abilities are nothing short of mastery. He is able to teach the patience and simple yet elusive process required to effectively learn any skill, especially a demanding one like violin. All while being the most supportive and understanding teacher I have had the pleasure to be a student with. In addition, it is clear that his experience learning from great teachers, like Dorothy DeLay who taught Itzak Perlman among others, has served as an inspiration for Mr. Zhu and he has certainly succeeded in carrying on the long line of learning accumulated for the violin as well as teaching in general. Mr. Zhu's playing has left me in awe and it is a wonder to be able to experience it up close.
  
  I have been an adult beginner playing between 2 and 3 years and am astounded at the progress and increased enjoyment of playing the violin since starting with Mr. Zhu. My consistency and understanding of the instrument has increased immeasurably. Pieces by Bach/Beethoven/Bruch/etc that seemed so far away now feel in reach and it is deeply inspiring to know that the music coming out of your instrument can touch those works. Mr. Zhu demonstrates in such a way that is clearly leading the student towards a better approach and a deeper understanding of what it really takes to master an instrument. He is always willing and knowledgeable enough to explore and answer all questions a student at any level might have. Mr. Zhu is flexible with lesson times and understanding of somebody with a full time job. I always look forward to lessons and leave feeling nourished by his mindfulness, friendliness, and understanding. This appears to have become rather long but people like Mr. Zhu deserve to have their hard work and energy recognized!
  
  Edit: had a student recital organized with Mr. Zhu and I cannot get over the care and sensitivity he showed for each student performing. Mr Zhu. did many things to boost confidence and reduce stress while providing a valuable learning experience. Students played a wide range of pieces and styles and it was clear that they all had a firm grasp of the fundamentals of playing their instrument.

  As a 24 year old beginner, I am happy to say that I have seen huge improvement in the past eight months with Mr. Zhu. I really enjoy how he relates playing violin to other aspects of life. Mr. Zhu finds the perfect balance of fun and enjoyment with discipline and practice. I would recommend him for any beginner like myself, as well as more experienced players.

  I’ve been studying with Mr. Zhu for approximately three months, and I would recommend him to anyone interested in learning the violin or piano. He is an effective and compassionate instructor, drawing on his experience as an accomplished musician, and is extremely passionate about sharing his knowledge with others. It’s also evident that his primary concern is cultivating a love for music in his students and guiding them towards successfully accomplishing their goals, whether that is to become a professional musician or to play for leisure. Mr. Zhu has been incredibly flexible with regards to scheduling lessons and even made time over a weekend to fix one of my violin strings after it broke. I’m also continuously impressed with his sincerity and professionalism. Mr. Zhu regularly asks about happenings in my life, we discuss history and current events, and he always walks me to my car after my lessons. I am thoroughly enjoying my new hobby, thanks to Mr. Zhu!
