A MUST for date night or special occasion!!! From the atmosphere to service to food…beginning to end was a most wonderful experience! I have been waiting to find a fine dine restaurant here and BINGO! We will definitely frequent this restaurant for every date night! I moved from Vegas and it felt like home. I miss the amazing culinary chefs and restaurants of Vegas and this just brought me right back! A+++
Christine the gm topped off the experience with a kind send off! Brandi our server was fantastic and all of the staff were friendly and wonderful. Great vibes!
WOW!!! Listen! The Banana Crème Brûlée Martini was absolutely AMAZING! The manager Jessica is a gem 💎- she certainly knows her stuff!!
We travel all over the US Fulltime and we found out she came from our FAVORITE bar crafted cocktail in Wadsworth Oh which is by far my FAVORITE bar ever!!!!
You HAVE to come here. The talent is real.
I took my friend out for some kid-free grown-up time, and we were treated like queens. The wait-staff were all VERY friendly, we interacted with several of them, but our server was so extra sweet and attentive. I ordered a vodka martini and my friend got a fruity mocktail, and both of us enjoyed our drinks. I’m an extra dirty martini kinda lady and it’s rare I get them dirty enough for my taste, but my drink was *perfect.* Our food was so so good, I got seafood bucatini and the flavors were so rich and varied. And the portion size was perfect, I wasn’t struggling to finish, nor was I left wishing there was more. I cannot wait for a chance to come back and try something else.
And the cobbler dessert was just *chefs kiss* delicious.
The atmosphere, the seating, everything was wonderful.
I have had corn dogs in 43 states, 4 countries, and 2 continents. It has been a quest of mine to find the best corn dog. No joke, no sarcasm, it's a thing I'm known for by friends and family. Last night I have completed the search and can close that chapter of my 39 year old life. I have had the best corn dog, in this hemisphere of planet earth, in the sleepy city of Canton Ohio, at Mélange.
The chef took the perfect approach: A premium beef hotdog in a firm but thin outer casing of corn batter. The texture is perfect and let's you really enjoy the premium beef. It perfectly answers or responds to the dilemma of the fair corndog: the corn to dog ratio. It's served with a precise drizzle of ketchup and mustard. At first glance you might think you need more condiment, but that's your history with the fair corn dog talking. This take on the tradition needs no further embellishment as you get the perfect balance of taste and texture in each bite.
Most people think fair corn dog when the subject of corn dogs comes up. However, the key to a good corndog is balance. Once in a great while you'll encounter a fair food stand that used a thin coating of "grandma's" corn recipe for their corn dogs. Those used to be some of the best corn dogs one could find because the corn doesn't overpower the dog and it cooks evenly throughout. That was the case until I ate at Mélange last night.
In a way I'm somewhat emotional about this review because I know there is no place to go from here. This mission I've been on to find the best corndog is over. It feels similar to graduating high school or college: You knew you needed to graduate, you knew it would mean the end of something that has defined you for so long, and you knew that what came next would be a mystery. So thanks Mélange, I can start writing a new chapter in my life's story...
Our entrées were delicious and priced fairly. The drinks could have used some work on timeliness and taste. The drink menu is bold, but of the 4 cocktails we tried, I would not recommend any of them. Come for the corn dogs, stay for the entrees, and order from the excellent wine selection.
This is also the cutest date night place I've been to in the Northeaster Ohio area. It puts Cleveland hot spots to shame, would be great for and intimate dinner/drinks/dancing with friends as there is a super cute private club in the back of the restaurant. It's not pretentious or exclusive, it's the perfect place to come wine and dine with 6-8 of your closest adventurous dancing friends.
