I feel bad for giving it a 4 star rating but they really need to address the lack of exterior lighting at the facility. I don't think it needs to be lit up like a football field but there needs to enough lighting for guests to be able to walk safely into the building. It would also be helpful to have some at the entrance or the drive. Last night attending a class I saw multiple older guests struggling walking into the facility. I struggled myself as it was so dark and had to use my flashlight on my cell to see.

A family-ftiendly library that features a small play area for children, tons of movies and books for all ages, and computer resources that you come to expect from the Akron-Summit County Library system. The Portage Lakes branch is tucked back into the woods a bit and has a large parking lot. Staff are incredibly friendly as well during each of my visits. My only wish is that this branch would be updated or modernized a bit, as it seems to be quite old when compared with other branches throughout Summit county.

They have free rapid covid 19 tests available for anyone who calls them.

Very helpful staff. Awesome selection with a friendly, small town feel! Clean and neat facilities.
