“I have "been a friend of" Grace UCC of Loyal Oak [though I have always known that church merely as "Grace UCC of Norton, Ohio"] since the 1980s. Since the early 1990s, my friendship with that church has been completely historical and certainly "from a distance." I ran across their "Google Maps" page recently and am glad to see that they are continuing in their important work. Starting in 1981, I had been quite active, both nationally and within the state of Ohio, with the United Church of Christ [UCC] LGBT advocacy group, known at the time as the United Church Coalition for Lesbian/Gay Concerns [UCCL/GC] and now known as the UCC Open and Affirming Coalition. Rev. Bob and Louise Baldauf, who had served at Grace UCC between 1954 and 1991, had been among the early "allies" for LGBT people. Grace UCC had been the first "Open and Affirming" church within the UCC, even before Riverside Church in New York City which is the official "first" "Open and Affirming" church. Each week, for many years, Bob and Louise would mail out what I have always called "Baldauf bulletins" that had included the Sunday-morning "order of service" plus many articles, from many different sources, with information about many "peace and justice" issues all over the world. I still have a large stack of "Baldauf bulletins" that I have saved in a box in my basement. I am glad to see that Grace UCC is continuing in its extremely important ministry. It had been great to see on-line, recently, a picture of that church with a large rainbow flag near their entrance.”

Dr. Hockenberger does an amazing job and is currently working with two of our children. We've been so pleased with the progress of our first daughter, and I know will with our second one, as well. We've always had a great experience and everyone here is super nice! Highly recommend!”

“This is a borderline 3 star place but I'll leave it at 4 star until I change my mind. Initial appearance inside is not good. It's old and dingy and looks worn down and out dated. That being said I won't hold too much against them for the appearance, although a good cleaning could help immensely. The staff is usually one lady who does phone, cook and cashier, they may have a driver as well. Skeleton crew isn't always great for service, which was lacking. The temperament of the staff was mediocre and they could use some more cheerful greetings and smiling can take you a long way with customers, but the general attitude was as run down as the appearance. With everything negative with appearance and service, the pizza was pretty good. The sub sandwiches are big and are a good deal during lunch time specials. The menu is far too large for such a small place. It would be good for the business to narrow food options and focus more on quality and appearance of the food. Will eat again here soon and if nothing is better I will drop one star. If it gets worse after the next 2 visits it will go down to 2 star and I will leave it at that. As of Aug 2022 I initially rate it 4 star (generous start to give local food places a chance)”

“Honestly this is the best dentist I've ever been to. I have really bad anxiety around medical stuff and the staff is so understanding of that. They made a real effort to make me comfortable and everyone was very nice and welcoming. Alexis at the front desk was especially helpful. Haven't actually had any work done yet, just consultations but so far I am very impressed.”

I was so scared to go to the dentist but they made me feel comfortable and explained each process. The front desk was extremely personable and greeted everyone by name, the tech that took me back was amazing & the Dr. was very down to earth and made me feel at ease. “I love this shop. Straight out of the 50's They still have the old fashioned hand cranks in the greenhouse, to vent the roof. They also have a pile of Radio Flyer red wagons to cart your new plant babies around on while you shop. Established in 1956 - it truly takes you back. Founded by the Late Del F. Dayton - it is the original seed from the Dayton family legacy. Del's daughter Susan Dayton runs and operates the nursery now - she has an abundance of plant knowledge. Family owned & operated for over 60 years.”
