It is a beautiful place with pretty sunsets and even out on the water. Campground is quiet, relaxing, and enjoyable. I love it there.
Nice camping area, especially kid friendly with lots of bathrooms and play areas. Hot showers. Great views of the lake from the Cherokee campground which is pictured. Oh and they gave some nice trails, both paved and not paved.
Sequoyah State Park is one of the best in Oklahoma. I come back time and time again and I'm impressed each time. It's the perfect place for a quick stop to enjoy nature and scenery, to take a weekend camping trip, or spend longer at the lodge or one of the cabins. Park staff is friendly, and the campsites are clean and quiet. There's never a bad view and there's something for everyone. It's the state park I recommend to anyone who asks.
Impromptu camping trip with the family and pup. It was a lot of fun. The hiking trail is paved so it was nice not having to worry about the kids tripping. The water was freezing but we played in the sand. Cute nature center where they have a beaver, coyotes, fox and owl. The downfall is they require you to reserve your camping spot beforehand. I did and when I got there the campsite I picked was rocky and on a slope. The picture they provided was not helpful. Which is not ideal when sleeping in a tent. They also do not allow you to swap campsites. You will have to pay full price for another spot.
We stayed in a cabin by the lake and loved it. We walked the trails, went to the nature center, swam, and played on the playground. We had plenty to keep us busy.
There were lots of ants in the cabin, which was frustrating. The restaurant was terrible.
Overall we enjoyed our stay
