I did a forest bathing session and it was a very cool way to spend an afternoon! Highly recommend.
Note that there is a shooting range nearby. It definitely affected the ambiance of the space for me. Important to note if loud noises are a trigger for you as they are for me.
I love Oxley! Great nature center, educational activities, solo hikes and guided walks. Rented the pavilion and had my daughter's birthday here years ago ("a botany bash!"). A great place to escape the city within the city!
A fun place to hike. Not many people when I went and it was clean. Saw some wildlife.
Love love love it here. A ton of trails, the majority of them unpopulated by human beans. Most of the trails connect to each other and are easy to navigate. You are *in* nature here honnie: I saw deer; a 4-5 foot long snake; tons of birds and butterflies; and cool insects. Be mindful of ticks though yall cos this is a place you can find them, and they'll find you!
A wonderful exploration into the diversity of ecosystems in Oklahoma. We had a fantastic guide who really explained the history of the area and the park.
We saw deer, possums, armadillo, ducks, red tailed hawks and a wide variety of trees and plants.
It was a cool day, but a beautiful and warm fire was lit in the education building. There were lots of exhibits to see and explain.
