McIver State Park

I love having such great equestrian trails so close! There’s a short loop I can do after work or longer loops if I have more time. Every trip to McIver I’m filled with gratitude. This park is why I buy a yearly parks pass.

Equestrian trails here are perfect: laid back riding, some sturdy obstacles ranging from very easy to moderately advanced. My newer rescue horse was perfectly challenged on the bat loop (obstacle loop), we got a very good ride in following the long loop! Handful of hikers and dogs we ran into, one hiker very inexperienced around horses we were glad we have level headed horses!

This beautiful park offers a wide range of enjoyable activities. Some of my favorites include disc golf, camping, dog walking, and floating the river.

Love this place! The premiere disc golf destination within an hour of Portland for sure. 27 holes, absolutely gorgeous, lots of other things to do at this park and it's just gorgeous right on the river, but I come for the disc golf!
