Mt. Hood Theatre

Would rather go to this nostalgic theater than any new modern cinema hands down. Best sound system of any theater I've ever been to. Will definitely be back again 👍. Family of 4 $28 what a deal!

Go back in time and watch a movie with River Phoenix and the guys in a real life throw back theater from the Stand By Me era. I take my three teenagers to a show here once a month. Even though they are getting older we all still enjoy the tradition. This family owned business exudes the warmth proportional to the effort they put into it. Boasting unique popcorns in a plethora of flavors, hand carved ice cream and espresso from a calliope sized machine. I don’t know how many theaters like this are still around. Every week I see it’s still standing.....it warms my heart.

Great little theater that recently started showing first run movies. The seats are small, but comfortable. I wish they would modernize their concessions a bit--serve pizza and beer. But other than that I have no suggestions for improvement. It's my new go-to theater!

Always nice people, snack bar was fast and not horrible with prices, snack pack is great for kids. The chocolate covered gourmet $6 bag of popcorn though, blah, inedible and it was cold. Seats are decent, had non-rockers. Picture and speakers were fantastic. Always love going to the Hood, family tradition. Hope it never goes away.

Thinking about this place always brings a smile to my face. And I feel like the theatre is living its best life right now! I've been going here maybe 25 years, and I've always had wonderful experiences. There were years when it was a million degrees in the upper section, years when the springs in the seats poked you through an entire double-feature, but that never mattered because of the wonderful atmosphere they've created. Flash forward to today, they have done such an amazing job updating everything while still keeping the soul of the theatre whole. The snack options are fantastic (the popcorn, that I've eaten my weight in, and especially the pineapple soft serve!), the staff are wonderful, and you can tell how much the owners care about this place. I love this place.
