“Nice, welcoming community. Unique late morning mass service at 11:30AM, in addition to 9AM. Mass is also offered at 5PM on Saturday.”

“This school is amazing. The focus on community, science, and the dying topic of civics makes its curriculum and inner culture rich. It is a small school where all of the kids from K-8 are encouraged to teach and work with kids in other classes and of other ages, creating an environment that blurs the age/grade divisions prevalent in other schools. My kinder adores 'his' 8th grader and looks forward to the days she gets to hang out, to read to him, or they do activities together. Grades take field trips together and work together on certain tasks and lessons, while then receiving grade specific lessons seperately. The entire structure promotes multi-tiered and multi-faceted approaches to learning and education that I haven't seen elsewhere. I have been really amazed by every one who works there - from the educators to the school aides and everyone in the office. The curriculums are well developed and promote and integrate empathy, diversity, and critical thinking. Families and parents are very involved (and are an important part of how the school functions). I can't say enough about CSCS.”

“I know that some people may be upset with their or their child's experience at HVMS and I get that. every school gets complaints and here at HVMS we embrace them and use them to make our school are more fun, and welcoming place to be, but we don't let them define who we are. I know middle school can be a scary threatening place for newcomers but I found that when I came to this school it almost instantly felt like home, most of the staff is so kind and welcoming and make us students feel safe. Our school welcomes all gender identifications, races, and helps the less fourtunante. And as for the bullies, well every school has them so saying that the only thing that defines us are our bullies is stupid and pointless because you could go to any school and experience bulling, and its not the kids fault. they should learn right from wrong from their parents not our teachers. Also almost none of the money we earn from fundraisers/dances goes to the 'Thirst Project" A company that collects funds to provide wells for people in africa, so we are most definately not self centered and selfish.”

“Just had kindergarten orientation. I noticed during the first hour there the following. 1. First impression was VERY CLEAN. This might be one of the cleanest schools in the district. 2. The staff was very friendly! I was late and they didn't skip a beat. Seems very flexible. 3.Looking forward to many years of teaching from here.”

“The teachers are amazing. My daughter who barley turned three the week prior is in attendance. I was very nervous to send her anywhere. I was nervous because of her age but she was not upset when I dropped her off for her first day mainly because they have so much there to keep the kids active and engaged. She was upset when she had to leave at noon but it was because she had such a great time. I continue to hear great things about Country Cottage and am very glad she is attending.”

“Love this school, by far one of the best experiences that i have ever had in a learning environment. The teachers and staff really care about you and they want to see you grow and also grow spiritually. I felt like i was apart of a family that really cared about each other and would do anything for each other. Plus the academics are very helpful and really set you up for success. I recently moved and started in the public school system and City Christian really gave me the necessary tools to succeed.”

“I currently work as a Head Teacher at In A Child's Path Farm School in Boring, Oregon (and I've been here for just over a year). What originally drew me to work here was the amazing outdoor environments and the large amount of time spent outdoors...rain or shine! We have several garden spaces where the children are involved in planting, tending, and harvesting. There are several water play features, a very large sandbox, tumble down hill (with a crawl through tunnel underneath), a rock wall climber fort with a slide, a loose parts imagination station, several natural calming areas, a dome climber, a Zipline, bike paths, a grassy play area, a snack/meeting circle, an outdoor sink for hand washing, a forest area, and an art studio. I love that our young learners have such a variety of activities and ample opportunities to play, to learn, and to explore. We do also have a fun indoor space where, during the school year, we have our meals, learning in the little house, and various learning play centers. It is by far the most fun place I have ever taught at, and our families and children are amazing!”
