I will start by saying I am constantly skeptical about dealerships and small garages. I needed repairs done to my S60 and a dealership wanted entirely too much money to accomplish the repairs. After driving past Bob's garage for years I finally decided to stop and get their opinion on what I needed done. Bob Jr. And Bob Sr. are both very personable and clearly have years of experience working on Volvo's. I felt that I was in the right place and confident that my car would be in good hands. I saved a ton of money and my car was back in working order after having them complete the work. If you own a Volvo and need repair work, I highly recommend you stop or call Bob's Import service before going anywhere else. I am confident you won't regret it. 5/5 stars!!
This is the only reason I can keep my Volvo on the road. This is now the only guys in town who really know Volvos. Much more knowledgeable than any dealer. Very decent and honest as well. A gift from God for Volvo owners.
I have to drive 40 minutes to take my Car to Bob's and it is more than worth it. Great service, very fair prices, and he really takes care of his customers. This is the only shop I trust 100% with my V50 to do great work and not get hosed.
Awesome place best service i have ever gotten very fair and honest people
I cannot say enough kind words about Bob's Import Services. I've been there twice now, after having taken our 2005 Volvo S40 to the dealer for many years for services. Every time we were at the dealer for what we thought or hoped was a small issue, it was hundreds or even thousands of dollars of repair, with the same old song of, "If you fix all this stuff now, your car will last many years, it's a Volvo so it will last forever."
My husband was the one who noticed Bob's along Rt. 65 and suggested we try to go there the next time we had an issue. We needed an inspection done anyway and a few days before that, our Check Engine light came on. Without ever meeting me, Bob suggested over the phone that we check to make sure the gas cap was on tightly. We did, and the issue went away, and we took it to him for inspection - it seems to be a father-son business. His inspection/emissions was a very fair price, both guys were incredibly kind and polite, and we had no issues to speak of (I guarantee the dealer would have found SOMETHING to fix).
Now more recently I got a Brake Fluid error and got worried, and took it straight to Bob. He checked it out within one day, and couldn't find a leak or issue. What struck me is that I know nothing about cars, but he had such a great conversation with me on the phone and actually *explained* in layman's terms what might have been the problem, ended up just filling our brake fluid and let me know what to do if we see the error again. I sincerely believe that if we'd taken the car to the dealer, they would have told us we needed a new brake system, at least new pads.
A lot of mechanics give the business a bad name by always taking people for a ride with unnecessary repairs and charges. I feel so confident that Bob and son are honest people who are not out to cheat anyone. I'm so lucky to have found them after being overcharged by the dealer for so many years, and I would suggest that anyone with a Volvo in the Pittsburgh/Beaver county area take their car to him! You won't be sorry!
