“For a disabled single senior citizen veteran who gets $21.oo a month in food stamps, The Salvation Army Food Bank is a blessing. Plus having no transportation rather than walking the 1.5 miles from my home, if another member sees me on the road they are blessed and they will stop and give me a ride. And then ride me home. The food if not out dated enough to be spoiled it is excess that the Giant Eagle Grocery Store has over purchased that they donate and get a tax write-off. Plus weekly they donate day old bread, which is good since it is baked in the store 2 miles away. The volunteer workers are kind and helpful and the operation is organized so there is no quarreling or disputes. Anyone who is in need of help, I recommend that they come in.”

“I don't particularly like the police, however I have to be honest and say that the police dept.in Brighton township has not been involved in any kind of corruption. These officers seem to actually want to help people instead of just throwing them in jail. I feel fortunate to grow up in this area because as a former ex felon I believe in other areas of our country I would of been shot or dead for breaking into unoccupied structures or homes. I made some very bad mistakes as a young adult that to this day haunt me. I'm just glad I didn't physically harm anyone. So thank you guys for your service and thanks for taking the time to straighten me out. I consider you people real police and will treat you as such, but some of these guys who shoot people in the back and claim they were in fear of their life is disgraceful and gives police a bad name. I don't live in Brighton township anymore but hope you guys give these kids a chance if they make a mistake. I don't mean violent offenders I mean mitigated incidents. God bless you guys because to be totally sincere your better men then me because I don't think I would have the balls to walk up on a car and ask for id these days. Good job!!!!!”

It's very family friendly with a pair of chairs for small kids, and they even have a high chair, which is surprising for a small general store. Great food, friendly service, and locally owned.
