Jennifer Schweitzer Park

Address: Pipersville, PA 18947, USA

Park

“Nice, small local park. Playground, ball field, nature paths (which can be a bit muddy depending on the season). I wish Plumstead would put as much maintenance money into this Park as it does other, larger Parks. Especially some paved paths leading to the Park too enable access without having to walk/ride bikes on the road to get there would be nice.”

Ralph Stover

Address: 6011 State Park Rd, Pipersville, PA 18947, USA

Park

“Great park for walking, hiking and climbing. 3 trails seem to follow the contour of the area in high rocks, one path hugs the edge of the cliffs, one about 10 yards from the cliff edge and finally a path about 30 yards from the cliff edge. Each path seems to have its own level of difficulty. The lower portion of the park has foot paths that travel along the Tohickon creek and the entire park has fantastic veiws. The park has a long history in Bucks County, from the Native Americans in pre colonial times to the Stover family that ran the mill on the creek. During the Revolutionary war the caves in the area were hiding places for the notorious Doan family/gang that were known to be loyal to the British. The views from the high rock portion of the park are spectacular and provide recreation for novice to professional rock climbers. For those not looking for hike and just want to see the views may want to drive to the north side of the park and park on Tory rd. Those looking for a nice walk and rewarding hike should park at the main park entrance and walk over the bridge then north to the trails toward high rocks.”

Camp Ockanickon

Address: 5787 State Park Rd, Pipersville, PA 18947, USA

Park

“Our Troop has been to Ockanickon for summer camp twice, about eight years apart. Both times, the adult leaders and the Scouts all had a wonderful week. The programs are especially well run, with over 90 merit badges offered (some did not have enough interest to schedule, though). The camp itself is very compact and easy to navigate - which has its plusses and minuses. On the plus side, you are never that far from your tent or the mess hall. On the negative side, there is no "back woods" for some of the activities that require more space. All-in-all, this is a quality summer camp for Scouters of all ages. Highly recommended to all Troops.”
