“It was a fun Christmas activity for the whole family that did not disappoint! It was well organized and the staff was pleasant and efficient. We all thoroughly enjoyed the light show that was synchronized to the car radio Christmas music. There was an hour wait in the car line to finally reach the entrance. The only complaint we had was the extra $40. they charge If you wanted to jump ahead of the line without the hour wait to get in. It seemed like doubling the price for a No Wait experience was kind of a sleazy business tactic during the Christmas season. Overall we would suggest don't pay the extra $40. and enjoy talking, joking and singing to Christmas songs with your kids while you wait the hour!! Did I mention they do have " port a potties" on the grounds for emergencies.”

“Got the family together for a weekend camp trip and had so much fun at Bear Run! Staff was super friendly and so helpful with any questions you might have. We rented primitive walk-in sites and they were perfect, private, and relaxing! They also have a little gem mining station that our son loved, he had so much fun getting to play in the dirt and water! The pool and playground were nice and clean as well, our nephews had a blast being able to swim! Also the arcade was a nice little stop to play some pool and entertain the older kids for a bit! Overall, I was so impressed with this campground and will definitely be back soon! Super family-friendly and an awesome place to camp if have little ones! Highly recommend!”

“We stopped and stayed the night here on our way to another destination and it was a beautiful campground that was very accommodating for our one night stay. We had a spacious pull-thru site that was easy to get in and out of and had full hookups. The campground has a lot of seasonal campsites and is well maintained. The sites are spaced out. The front entrance is gated for extra security.”

“We had a really great experience with our stay here. We did not plan on stopping here, but we had camper trouble that needed work done. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful from right when we arrived until we left. When we pulled up, they guided us to our spot and helped us back in (as a new-RVer this was especially helpful). When the repairs on our camper took longer than expected, they let us extend our stay even though they were fully booked. They have a great community and have all kinds of family-oriented events. We happened to be there for their Christmas in July event that featured a camper decorating contest and Santa giving gifts to kids. We weren't planning on participating, but the staff encouraged us to and even gave us a gift to give our daughter. It is a family oriented campground full of great people. We didn't originally plan to stop here, but we are glad we found this hidden gem!”

Smith Grove Campground

Address: 1085 Herman Rd, Butler, PA 16002, USA

“Nice campground with friendly workers that were so nice to help us out with a spot for the night while we were having truck problems. They were nice and waited for us to arrive later in the evening. Thank you for being so kind! They set us up with an easy pull through site. There are some nice nature trails there but we didnt have much time to check them out. I cant really say too much about the campground because we were only there one night. Thank you for a nice place to stay during a stressful situation!!”
