“The people I met here were really nice. Everyone was respectful of 1 another. 2 rangers showed up while we were there. They asserted there positions when they showed up, thought it was going to be a bad day, but they checked all of our paperwork (PA permits). They were nice afterwards. Fun and relaxed environment. Worth the 2hr drive.”

“Nice campground. Some of the sites are odd and hard to get into. A little old fashioned, not as updated as some campgrounds. Close to a nice trail for walking, fishing creek, it was too cold for the pool. Kids loved the playground.”

“This is one of several access points for the Switchback Trail featuring ample parking most days. Head west and you can follow it for a few miles to Mauch Chunk Lake County Park, or head east from the Hill Road access and you can follow it to the upper Switchback Trail entrance on North Avenue (requires navigating a few blocks of sidewalk)..”

“What a beautiful park, you can see the amount of pride they took for the community. The Dog park was a nice surprise, now I can safely let my dog run and play. The park was very clean, nicely detailed landscape. The Train and Jeep was a big hit with the Grandchildren. Loved the fenced in toddler area!”

“One of the most beautiful places in Lehigh Gorge. Beautiful falls. Hike to Falls is tough and extreme caution is recommended. Hiking trail is over stones are not paved. Look out for Orange arrow marks, it is easy to get lost. Walk up the hill under the bridge from parking which is about a mile from Falls. Love going here.”

“One of my favorite hiking trails to visit. Beautiful scenery and incredible waterfalls. If you hike up past all the falls and follow the trail there is one of the best views there is in PA. Better than the pa grand canyon for sure. The trails are perfect for experienced hikers who like a challenge. I would not recommend for small children and the trail to the falls is almost impossible to get to in the winter.”

“Terrific park with gravel trail down to Drakes Creek. Perfect place for a hike or moderately challenging downhill bike ride. This is a beautiful location in the fall when leaves are changing colors.”

“Tom was Awsome!! I had a family of four, myself, my husband my 10 year old daughter and my 8 year old son. Tom was very knowledgeable and patient with all my kids questions and even was great with exploring new things with them. I would recommend everyone that steps foot in Jim Thorpe as a tourist should go see Tom. He does it all and is very personable. My family and I will definitely be coming back to Tom for future visits!”

“I wanted to write this review because we were almost scared away from this trail by other reviews. Luckily we tried it and are so thankful we did. Listen, this trail can be very challenging at times. I consider myself in good shape but by no means an "experienced" hiker. We went on a rainy day with wet leaves on the ground. All I had was a pair of newer sneakers, jeans and a t-shirt. Yes, you will need to be very careful at some points and may need to use your hands to climb both up and down rocks. And yes it can certainly be very slippery and unforgiving if you do not pay attention. But no, you do not need to be an experienced hiker with fancy hiking boots. So use common sense, be careful and enjoy these amazing falls. As for how to get there: Drive all the way to the furthest parking lot in the D&L parking area. Walk down the stairs to the first warning sign, make a right go under the train tracks then another right up the trail next to the tracks. Follow this trail around until you reach a sign for the falls. Then go left( someone drew an arrow on the sign). Once you reach the water just follow it upwards, that simple. Note we turned around at the falls and exited how we came. Tip: if you reach a really steep part look closer to the water line there may be an easier (although still steep) way up. It took about 2 hours to the falls and back, going very slowly. Good luck!”

“My family went to this wonderful restaurant, after visiting The Butterfly Sanctuary. We had never been there. The staff was friendly, and caring. The owner came to our table, to say hello. The food was served in an attractive manner, and was delicious. We enjoyed our meals! What a lovely experience! We will definitely return.”

“A beautiful, quiet, peaceful location. No loud parties or rude neighbors. The folks who manage the place are wonderful, and went way out of their way to make me feel welcome and help me out with anything that came up—they lend the place a great vibe. I stayed during the winter months, which could have been uncomfortable, but their common-use facilities are clean and inviting, and it's just a quick walk to the main office building where the bathrooms, laundry, game room, and other facilities are located. Will definitely stop through again next time I'm in the area!”

“Beautiful and quite place to get away from Home very clean, staff were so nice from beginning to end, my family and 2 other families couldn't have picked a better place to camp and get away from our normal routine. camp sites were very spacious compare to other campgrounds I've been to. Campground owners came to greet us and see if everything was fine. Will definitely recommend this place 100%. thank you and can't wait to go back.”
