“Approx. 35 years ago I used to go 4-wheeling/dirt biking on the old Lehigh and New England Railroad bedwhere these current photos were taken from. Things now look pretty well grown up but photos still have a great view of former Hazard Road which is now Mauch Chunk road in Palmerton and the Lehigh River. The white Central Carbon Municipal Authority building shown in the photos is one of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Lehigh Tunnel North East Extension/I 476 ventilation system/control buildings on the north side of the Blue Mountain. Noticed on Google Maps satellite view the location marker for the C.C.M.A. is shown in Bowmanstown Borough at current Plastics World recycling/former Prince Manufacturing Company Bowmanstown, Pa. rts.248&895 across from Lincoln avenue which is the wrong location.”
