“I asked HC Wood to do the engraving on my father's headstone, having searched for quite some time to find someone who would do it. I found them to be very professional, easy to work with, timely in their work, and the engraving was very well done. I was very pleased with my dealings with Mr. Wood and company, and highly recommend them.”

“Great place, sad that the age has made the place run down with the addition of no state funding.”

“Hello to those wonderful people out there. I am taking the opportunity in asking your help to make contact with this special friend.. I know she works not to far from her home. I visited her residence with a male friend few months ago. I was to revisit again with the friend. Unfortunately, that individual I had lunch with him 2 weeks ago after my birthday May 19th. Sense then I haven't heard from the special male friend.. She is the only person I could contact.. Her name is Lora. Thank you.”

“Rip HANK MOBLEY ???????????????????? Henry "Hank" Mobley (July 7, 1930 – May 30, 1986) was an American hard bop and soul jazz tenor saxophonist and composer. Mobley was described by Leonard Feather as the "middleweight champion of the tenor saxophone", a metaphor used to describe his tone, that was neither as aggressive as John Coltrane nor as mellow as Stan Getz, and his style that was laid-back, subtle and melodic, especially in contrast with players like Sonny Rollins and Coltrane. The critic Stacia Proefrock claimed he is "one of the most underrated musicians of the bop era." Mobley was born in Eastman, Georgia, but was raised in Elizabeth, New Jersey, near Newark. When he was 16, an illness kept him in the house for several months. His grandmother thought of buying a saxophone to help him occupy his time, and it was then that Mobley began to play. He tried to enter a music school in Newark, but could not, since he was not a resident, so he instead studied music through books at home.”

“Today was heavy! I've been doing a lot of ancestral work and retracing my roots. My grandmother died in 1966. I never knew her but learned she was buried here. I read the other reviews and thought to myself uhoh is this place going to be able to help me. I called yesterday and left a message. This morning Judy called and within 1 minute was able to tell me that my grandmother was there and where. My grandmother was buried in a public lot because my family did not have money (something I never knew) to buy a private plot. There is no grave marking but the place on these grounds where public graves are is absolutely BREATHTAKING! The groundsman left me alone and I wept for all the Black ancestors who did not have money to bury their loved ones privately. But I am grateful that Mt. Lawn Cemetery still honors those by keeping their records and maintaining the grounds. I was overwhelmed by the energy of the public grave site, not to mention it rained as soon as I walked onto the soil and stopped once I stood under the tree and thanked it for sprouting forth roots of love for those buried there. I will upload a photo of the tree that governs the public grave sites. It's magical!”

“Needed soil on a tight schedule. First and only supplier I thought of was Best Mulch who handled some routine stone needs in the past. A call first thing in the morning confirmed I made the right choice again. Within 3 hours Best Mulch was loading a truck for delivery. And as with each order, it was delivered professionally. Always the Best!”

“My experience with Montrose Memorials was a good one. Specifically, Lauren was extremely informative and helpful. She was very patient and understanding. From the design of my mother's headstone to the installation. It was clear from the moment I sat down with her that she would do everything in her power to help me and my family choose the appropriate headstone for our mother. Lauren kept me informed throughout the entire process. It goes without saying that you don't pick out your mother's headstone everyday. I'm very pleased with the final headstone completion. I would definitely recommend Montrose Memorials to my friends and family. Thank you immensely! Sincerely, James Scober”

“I am at my parents and brother’s site 1/2 dozen times a year and it is always maintained properly. I was just there within the week and had photos of three years back and the lawns and greens around the stones are even more plush and manicured. It is very important to me that my family’s final resting place is taken care of as well as I cared about them. Thank you.”
