Good trail.. Quiet area.. Great location for photography when the lake is standstill and it reflects the surrounding tree line in a mirror fashion, especially in the winter with snow coverage on the trees. Am waiting for the summer time for a drone flight for some aerial photography of the area
How fortunate we are to have this walking trail available!
It's a decent place for a jog/stroll with a major emphasis on DECENT. The scenery overlooking the lake is quite nice, as are the trees that provide ample shade for the majority of the path that is open to the public. By that I'm referring to the 2017 tornado that ravaged Lake Scranton, forcing closure of roughly 50% of the path. These areas are fenced off, presumably for cleanup & safety reasons and without news of a re-opening date. This is evident in the fell trees along the ~2 mile path that is open.
Should you come here?
- Yes, if you just want a casual stroll/jog & don't mind the truncated path.
- Yes, b/c you're going to traverse the entire path regardless.
- No, b/c you're a serious athlete & don't enjoy feeling like the ball in the game 'Pong'.
Take a RIGHT at the main path. Going LEFT garners funny reactions. You'll see.
Beautiful area in the heart of the city. Nice interpretive center with restrooms and drinking fountain. Seems to be popular with photographers and painters alike. Walking, jogging, hiking or biking is nice here. Lock your car and keep valuables out of site.
