“Had an incredible time riding my bike from Carbondale up to Forest City and back. Extremely picturesque setting, peaceful, and memorable. I recommend this day trip for singles riders, couples, groups and families. The bike ride was not excruciating and it was a very modest slope. On the way back down, I simply coasted...”

“Beautiful place with awesome hiking and biking trails.”

“This is a great place to gather with family and friends! Take a hike through Nature's finest, or ride a bike on the gravel path. Watch wildlife live their everyday lives, take pictures of the flowers, Autumn days and of course the beautiful Lackawanna River! I'm here quite often with my son, as well love to hike on the trail from start to finish. This trail is long but its worth taking to take in all the sights and sounds. And soon, the family area will be here, where kids can play on the newly built playground, adults can enjoy the peacefulness of the new zen garden and there's so much more coming! Beautiful place, for a beautiful community!”

“Clean and safe. Pool goes from about 16 inches deep to about six feet deep, with an enormous splash pad, so fun for all ages, including toddlers. No diving, and no diving boards. About $5 to get in, memberships are available at the park office, just down the road from the pool. Daily group rates available. I've never ordered anything, but snack bar looks pretty sweet. Picnic tables outside. We have reserved a pavilion for birthday parties. I think they have cabins and yurts and boats available for rent. Great fishing in the lake. Would recommend without hesitation. Check out Nathaniel Cole State Park in Hurpersville, NY also. Free swimming in beautiful, clean lake, surrounded by manicured beach. Did I mention free?”

“This small tract of land mostly runs along the Tunkhannock Creek, just outside of Lackawanna State Park. It loses 1 star for ease of access, or lack thereof. There are 2 points of access. The first is a small lot on Grist Mill Rd where you have to walk 1/2 to 3/4 mile up the road past private property. There are no signs telling you where to go, or where the preserve begins/ends. Just follow Grist Mill until you reach the creek. The second access is a State Park lot off of Rt 438 & Cole Rd, park and then walk over the bridge and locate the South Branch Trail to your left and follow that through the corn field and into the woods about a mile. The trail and boundries are not well marked and you have to cross private property, so be mindful. Once in the preserve, there are some nice spots along the creek and a lot of wildlife opportunities.”

“Love this trail. Often start off at the Simpson or Forest City openings and bike or walk. Great for family time. Trails are pretty clean and no ATV's are allowed on. Gravel paved, good for biking. Nice way to get some exercise. I find the Simpson portion heading towards Forest City to be nice and shady as a bonus.”
