“Jim Zander Field, located in Penn Manor School District's Comet Field Athletic Complex, is one of the most pristine and beautiful baseball fields in Central Pennsylvania. Named in honor of legendary baseball Coach Jim Zander, who coached at Penn Manor from 1996 - 2017, Zander Field's dimensions are 325' down the lines, 360' to the alleys and 380' to center field. Fans can watch the game along the out of play fences or while sitting comfortably in the bleachers along the third base line. The Penn Manor School District has elected to honor Coach Zander for his tireless efforts in making their field an institution and for his unparalleled leadership. Coach Zander's career record was 291-198-2. His program was known for its consistency as he has led the Comets to Section One titles in 2004 and 2017, a Lancaster Lebanon League title in 2009, 14 District playoff appearances, and the penultimate accomplishment for any program - the 2005 State Championship at the AAAA level. Zander's Comets have made the PIAA State Baseball Tournament in 2005, 2012 and 2017.Many of Coach Zander's players have gone on to play at the collegiate level while a few have made it to the professional ranks. Coach Zander's coaching tree is also notable as many former players are now head baseball coaches or assistant baseball coaches. The Penn Manor School Board named Zander's long time assistant Streeter Stuart as the head baseball coach in the fall of 2017. The milquetoast Stuart has betrayed Zander's legacy and by renting out the field to tournament organizations due to his greed and lack of spine; fully disrespecting Zander's legacy and breaking Zander's heart.”
