Springhouse Apartments is a great place to live! Each of the apartments is a 2-bedroom unit, and because each building is an 8-plex, all apartments are a corner of their respective building, which affords a nice feeling of space and privacy from other tenants. The units have private entrances, very high ceilings (at least on the 2nd floor), a spacious feel, and lots of beautiful natural light. A big boon is that Springhouse is pet-friendly; I have my own cat, and I see many dog-walkers around the property. The central air conditioning is very handy, and as a Canadian unused to the heat and humidity of southeastern PA it was very necessary for me! Neighbors in this area are extremely quiet (they tend to be professionals and/or older tenants), and I never heard a peep in all the time I lived here. Quiet area in general; you'll hear some traffic from Main Street, and the occasional groundskeepers/landscapers from Springhouse and surrounding properties, but aside from that it's a relatively peaceful place to live. Tons of parking spaces, and a convenient stop for the 93 SEPTA bus (albeit not the most frequent bus) mere steps away. Walking distance heading eastward to the Trappe Tavern, Dairy Queen, and a strip mall (a tad further away, maybe 10-15 min walk) which contains a Dollar Tree, True Value, Hair Cuttery, and other useful stores. Reasonable walking distance to Ursinus College (20-25 min; I did it twice a day, every day). Driving 5-10 min westward (you'll need a vehicle or to hop on the bus, because the sidewalks disappear and walking isn't the safest) is another strip mall with a Giant Food Store, Target, Staples, and all the other big box stores you'll need. All of that speaks to an overall very convenient location. Finally, Mike Lockyer is fantastic property manager! If I ever needed anything, he would respond very quickly; on the one occasion during my entire tenancy that he needed to enter my apartment on a PECO (gas/electric)-related matter, he provided plenty of advance notice. Seriously, if you need to relocate to Trappe, Collegeville, or surrounding areas, this is the place you want to live.
UPDATE: I just wanted to say that 3 years later, this review holds up 100% In my time since leaving Springhouse Apartments, I've lived in a) a penthouse "luxury" apartment that had ongoing roof leakage all over my living room, and b) a poorly-maintained house with owners living 200 miles away and neighbors who blast ghetto music at all hours of the day. Truly, I never had a single issue -- not even a minor one -- in the year that I lived at Springhouse! I often think about it and wish I could have taken the apartment complex with me, because I doubt I'll ever find a place as good as that again. I hope prospective tenants read this review and take it to heart -- you won't be disappointed!
Apartments are very spacious.
This is a great place to live. Very quiet, clean and well maintained all year round. Management is excellent and professional.
Beautiful apartment. Very well maintained. Huge amount of parking. Awesome neighbors
This is a wonderful apartment complex. Quiet and no issues with neighbors. Plenty of parking and management is great. Not a single issue living here. Compared to many in the area, this is hard to beat.
