We hired John 10 years ago to completely re-do the wiring in our 1910 house in Sylvan Park and he did an exceptional job. His price was extremely reasonable and 10 years later we're still happy as can be with no issues. I especially appreciated John's attention to detail and patience despite our usually small crawl space. I definitely recommend him, especially to anyone with older homes!

John was the electrician assigned to our kitchen job through Hoisington Legacy Construction. He did a great job setting up the electric for a new dishwasher and while he was at our house he fixed up a broken electric outlet in the backyard. He checked in on us a few days later when we were experiencing breaker trips. He was efficient, friendly, very communicative and kind. He offered great explanation into his work, helping us learn more about how the electric system works overall. I can't recommend him highly enough and I look forward to working with him again in the future!

We bought a 100-year-old Nashville home in the fall of 2018. When the home inspector flagged a few issues with our electrical system, we began looking for an electrician with experience working in older homes. We knew John was our guy when he came out and spent two hours walking through the place with us. He mapped out exactly what each area of the house required and helped us sort through what needed to be done now vs. what could wait for later. As he performed the work, he communicated continuously with us what he was encountering behind the walls (with older homes there are always surprises) and what that meant. Another reviewer used the word "consultative" to describe John's style. That word perfectly sums up what it is like to work with him. Ask our toddler what she is doing with her plastic hammer and screwdriver and she'll reply, "Pulling out knob-and-tube with John Dorn!" Beyond that, the quality of his work is fantastic. Our home's electrical system is now modern, safe, and reliable. He'll be coming back in 2019 to finish a few smaller projects and we will be using him for all of our electrical needs going forward. We enthusiastically recommend John to others who want the job done right.

Could not have asked for better service! After purchasing an older home in Nashville and encountering a few electrical problems, I contacted multiple electricians/companies to get quotes. Many of the companies drafted outrageous quotes, attempting to sell us on things that we didn't ask for and do not "need" at the moment. As new homeowners, we want to aware of any issues our house may have -but be able to consult professionals honestly about what needs to be prioritized. John was incredibly honest and knowledgeable. He treated us with respect and answered all of our questions quickly, efficiently, and positively. Beyond that, on the date of his service he confirmed his arrival before hand and was right on time. He handled the job on his own (when other companies doubled the quote due to "needing multiple men") in 95 degree heat, in an unconditioned attic space. And beyond that, not that you'd need more, his rates were highly competitive. I could not recommend him enough! We will be using him for all of our electrical needs from this point onward.

I have lived in Nashville for 6 years now and never had a good experience with an Electrician until now. John Dorn is one of those rare old school dudes that does quality work for reasonable prices, and is very trustworthy. I wish I had found him sooner, and will use him forever more based on the wonderful work he has done, and the quickness. Super friendly too. A+++++
