Beautiful secluded camping space with a touch of forest vibe, breathtaking view of the river, with clean restrooms close to the campsite and dog friendly!!
Perfect for persons needing wheelchair access! Our stay was comfortable and the hosts really went the extra mile to consider ease and accessibility for families with small children. Loved Casa Topo’s ramp from the driveway to the front door and open floor plan.
Spent several awesome days here with my son and his family. With drought conditions drying up the Medina River, this place will probably always have water because it’s spring fed. 3 cabins and 2 RV spots on 8 acres, means no one is crowded on top of you. One cabin is a 4 bedroom double wide trailer with wrap around porch. Bath house and restroom facilities are new and clean.
If you're considering whether or not to stay at Sparrow Bend, just stop because the answer is yes. This campground lies at the end of a back country road, nestled right on the Medina River. They have cabins, RV slots with full hooks ups, and tent camping. We stayed in Site 1 which was awesome, we could see the river from the camper. It's perfectly named, as soon as you get down to the river there are hundreds of sparrows that have created nests in the little canyon over the river. My 9 year old daughter, 2 Labradors and I spent the entire Saturday we were there on the River. There's so much space that it's really easy for all the campground's visitors to spread out without even seeing each other. Just 45 minutes outside of San Antonio, it was incredibly quiet and serene. Our site had plenty of space for us including a fire pit where a previous camper had left wood (got to love pay it forward in camping!). I highly recommend a weekend out here, you won't regret it. We'll definitely be back.
Our family had the best time enjoying friends and exploring the river. The property is gorgeous, quiet, and peaceful. Close enough to town for a day trip but far enough away to get away from the worries of the everyday.
