“Easily the best petco in the Austin area. Just past the airport in Bastrop. The employees are very knowledgeable and approachable, ready to give good advice and tips on what pet is right for your new best friend. Austyn was the fish guru salt water tanks are not that scary anymore and he offered his advice in a clear easy way to understand, told me the average cost and showed me a picture of his huge salt water tank 600 gallons!!! The manager Kat was trying to close the store but never made us feel rushed. I have a ferret from them and he’s my best buddy Yoshi. I would recommend taking the drive to Bastrop to get the best service and advice around. I love this place!!!”

“Ordered a cake for my nephew's bride to be's shower. Jennifer was so helpful! She was terrific. The cake was exactly what I wanted. Received so any compliments from the guests. I was pleasantly surprised at how moist the cake turned out, since it was naked. I also ordered cookies decorated as a bride's dress. They were so pretty and the flavor was delicious. Lastly, I ordered a heart shaped cookie tarte. It exceeded my expectations! It was beautiful. Can't thank Jennifer and staff enough for helping make the shower a total success! “Nice family place my 3 yr old loved it. I had a blast as well. Kind of hot in there and no service what so ever. Major dead spot for cell service but its been like that for years. Cash only and fair prices. $5 for quads and $8 for blades, must leave shoes for blades. Has a snake bar, recommend the pickle pops they are my childhood fav from this place. Brings back so many memories.”

He was able to work in our refinishing job (original 1950's thin plank wood floor) within a week of contacting him as we were on a tight deadline to move out of our rental and into our new home. We wanted a very natural look - sanded to original grain and water-based sealant - and he suggested a great product and was totally on board with our vision. “This nursery is my favorite. The prices are the best anywhere, and the plants are excellent. Where else can you buy a big healthy rose in a 3-gallon container for $25? The selection is great too. It's a small nursery, but I find more here than I do at big nurseries. I do a lot of research to find out what kind of plants grow well in my area, and which are great plants. The problem is, a lot of them aren't for sale at local nurseries. But they're for sale here. Also, it's owner operated, and the owner knows his plants, and he's honest. It's called Dirt & Roses, but it sells a lot of different plants in addition to roses, and it doesn't have a dirt yard anymore.”

“Sam is my favorite manager! Last Thursday I was getting some groceries at the local Old Navy. I was in the frozen goods section choosing from their selection of fine vegan beef products when out of nowhere a pack of feral service dogs surrounded me. They had come from both directions, trapping me in the aisle with a pincer maneuver. I had to take refuge in the freezer itself to escape the vest wearing hellhounds. I tried appeasing the savage brutes with a box of vegan patties, but the dogs didn’t find my offering to be incredible enough, apparently. I thought all hope was lost when lo and behold, Sam appeared. After a quick assessment of the situation Sam grabbed a massive frozen turkey and bowled it down the aisle with the force of a thunder bolt. When the turkey struck the pack the dogs went flying in all directions, inexplicably making the same sound as a perfect strike at a bowling lane. After Sam helped me from my icy refuge I asked her “don’t you work in the pharmacy now?” With a wink Sam flicked a Vicodin into my mouth with her thumb. “I don’t really work here, they just pay me to hang around and occasionally test out the sporting goods. “Here, have a free sample” she said as she tossed me a 12 gauge. After that she took me out back to practice on some cans. I feel that in that magical afternoon Sam taught me what it was like to have a father.”
